    MichaelStroke:

I think, once you get to Versa 70, there's no putter purchase that's going to be night and day.  I went from Versa 70 to 96 and my putting game increase, but I considered myself an accomplished putter pre-buy.

I fully agree with Mike here...I mentioned in a different thread that I have personally tried almost every putter in the pro shop. I finally settled on the level 70 versa...I realized I suck at putting regardless of the putter (cant read breaks worth a damn), but I suck less at putting with the versa 70. If you have talent, like Mike and many others do, a better putter may be of help.

That said, I have played against excellent players who use very inexpensive putters... Borigard putts lights out and her putter is the $4 spider. Others still use the starter model...so what do I know?

    +1

I don't see me ever using any putter besides the versa 70. It's a great putter. When I miss, I know it's not the putter. And I'm just an average putter. If I were to get a different one, I would still just be an average putter. The equipment can only overcome so much.

What is your take on this $48 guess ?

In one word: The putting won't be better than the puttress!

Completely agree on the Versa 70. It's smooth and consistent, and the meter speed is perfect for putting. I've upgraded just about every other club, but see no need to change that one.

I'm sticking with my lvl 66 Ghost ...have not found another putter I can miss that close with..wasted my money few times, but was lesson learned. I believe everyone plays with different with clubs...some may like this or that model...I say rent before you buy.....or wait for free rental..and try....do they still have free rental?

do they still have free rental?

Last general free rental was one day in December, for WGT Nation members. We're gonna see more at the Masters, a traditional free rental weekend (two days).

OTOH, predictions are difficult. We've been told that there are those individual free rental hours after tiering up - limited to one club newly available at that level, and two hours.

Looks like they want to make a fortune from these 10% rental costs, forgetting about the revenue from 100% when clubs are sold. It's all about "New Economy"!
