I love these wonderful debates with you , you can get the juices flowing and liven things up .:-)

All in the interest of learning and sharing. I disagree on the point about balance-it directly relates to a line being held. Whatever the speeds are, you define the line, right or wrong. You are the one with the picture of the putting arc in your mind's eye and and that is the line you expect your putt to follow.

The more balance a putter has, the more likely it is to hold that line. How many times have you laid down what you thought was a perfect putt only to see it wander off. That's what makes that M1 a better putter, IMO, and the specs bear it out- Better precision, balance AND forgiveness than the 96 Versa I had before it.

As for the stats-they are skewed beyond belief, especially in your comparison. The only ones I even care about are the scrambling and sand save %s. Those tell a much better story.  :-)

p.s., I'm strictly a ding putter. I used to miss but got away from that when putter precision started showing up in the Ghost.  The M1 is off the charts if you ding it.

You getting all this down, SP?  LOL  ;-)

What I have found when putting is that at times the line is deceptive when putting on sloped greens . Congo comes to mind more than any other course . Its at those times I find moving the marker and missing the ding works best for me .

The Versa holds its line though very well on most putts I just think S/P needs to first commit more to what she already has instead of chasing the upgrade rabbit .Improvement on reading the greens and breaks will only come from practice trial and error .

I`m halfway through L100 but looking at the M1 just because I have the credits and WGT wont give me anything to buy .So just for eye candy I may get it unless something better comes along . As for scrambling and sand save % the best way to deal with those is to take the bunkers out of play as much as possible . Until we meet again kind sir. :-)

:-} Oh you bet Jim, all good advice for normal souls. But I'm realistic. I have never, nor will I ever practice putting. To me, it is boring. I have always putted much too quickly...one look and "BOOM" I never concentrate except when counting my money. I don't do math or take exotic notes...memory must prevail. I am inflexible....and so, I must rely upon putters that offer more. The M1 and M2 offer more than anything now available. I have an unfounded hunch that going from a 15-30 scale to the 10-20 scale of the M2 will, by nature, offer improvement on the Champ, stimp 13 speed greens and force me to do some simple quickie math. This is my take.

I think, once you get to Versa 70, there's no putter purchase that's going to be night and day.  I went from Versa 70 to 96 and my putting game increase, but I considered myself an accomplished putter pre-buy.

Same here. Step up and hit it because the longer you stare at it, the bigger the break gets.  :-D

You just gave all of the reasons as to why you putt poorly .

#1. You wont practice so you dont want to learn how to use your putter properly and score well .

#2. You play too fast and you dont concentrate . You have to think about what you are doing when putting and also take your time .

#3. I dont take notes matter of fact I dont even have a course notebook . All play is from memory each and every course .As for the math all you need is simple addition and subtraction . Slide rulers , calculators and a P.H.D. in calculus or physics is not needed .

#4.There is no memory once you reach the green . Because you dont do math there is nothing to remember . No power level , read of break , distance , elevation all which are needed to putt well .

All of the above reasons are why you wont get better at putting , no matter what putter you buy . Because even if you do buy the M2 you dont practice and practice is where you truly learn how to do what you need to , to play better .

Practice is where you get to see learn and correct your mistakes . So you now have three (3) options .

#1. Go practice with the putter you have .

#2. Go buy the M2 and hope for the best .

#3. Go rent the M2 take it for a test spin , play some rounds and then see what happens . If you like it then buy it

Whatever decision you make I wish you the best . :-)

You are the one that offers more.  One that feels right and stop looking at stats so much, IMHO.

All fine and each to their own, but the math can also be just the gut feel here.

Putting is a huge strength of the game provided here.

When I was actually playing I was always amazed at how you could apply RL to this game on the greens.  IRL I know my pull back for whatever distance (so RL simple math I guess), but you can't pace it out and so go with gut feel to some extent.  Here just as easy and just as quick, some gut feel and not being funny enough to get me to RG standard...Way I liked to do it, and happy:)...Yes there was some refinement to be had but effort v outcome v what was guaranteed.........Knowing you a little on this one I would say just go with what feels good and don't go "overthunking" it:)...

My 2 cents of thought young lady, and also GL with whatever you decide / route you go.

Too bad that didn't work with hooters.

ps...I'm referring the chicken wing place, obviously...(I didn't want to sound too shallow..:)
