The Nike L85 irons are great.

Since you are L87,   the TM RSi2 irons are available soon and well worth considering also.

I would suggest giving a swimming lesson to your starter hybrid, putter and 2 x starter wedges --- and invest in 3 x good wedges (I prefer the Cleveland wedges, but others swear by the TM offering) and the best putter you can get hold of.

    Good Luck

The Ping G25 irons work well inside 200 yds.  The 3 & 4 are tricky to hit maxed but do

much better in punch mode.  My son loves the Nike level 52s.   I like Ping for its price,

meter speed, and accuracy,.  its a dead heat..... jonny88

I had those Nikes and loved them. But after seeking advice on here I changed to Rs when level 90 and glad I did. So I would wait as you at 87 now.

Yep - that was my thought.

Get the other equipment sorted now - it will have a bigger impact. Decent set of 3 wedges (kill the hybrid), decent putter, maybe even upgrade the Driver.

Then get the TM RSi2s at L90.

85 nike irons are better than the g25 pings.

But if I were you , just wait for lvl 90 and get the rsi irons, those will get you to champion tier.

I answered your specific question as it was presented. But, after reading the many responses on here, I fully agree with them. You have been using the same kit for a very long time (starter kit and G10 irons?)...so waiting a bit longer shouldn't be difficult for you. In the interim, upgrade your supporting clubs and ditch the hybrid. Anything you purchase will be better than the starter clubs you are using.

I will say that many good players still use the starter putter...if you putt well with it and are used to it, I would make this your final upgrade.(if at all)

Ok, since WGT does not plan to give us a free rental day or weekend soon, I would like to ask you, which set would be better as an upgrade.

IMO, after 87 levels of play you have a pretty good handle on the game. Your stats are decent, considering the equipment you have, and indicate you know your way around. Your equipment is really restricting you, though.

When I was in your shoes I carried 4 wedges-no 3W or HB. You don't really need those with decent irons and wedges. The Nikes with 4 CG wedges would easily take you to Legend and a lot faster than you think. Don't forget, you get length with the Nike 3i and from your shorter tees, that 3W and HB are taking up space that wedges could occupy.

Now, when you get to Legend you add the 3W,  go to 3 wedges and you're off to level 97 and the better Nikes.  :-)

Those level 90 r11's were way too fast for me, in a choice I'd take the lower level Nikes over them.

First, thanks for all of the great advice and for sharing your experience with the sticks.

Of course, the hybrid will have to go and make room for a third wedge (so far I checked the 60 ATV during the 2 hours free rental and it really looked good - easy to swing, close to the ding most of the time and good stopping power (and the difference between 3 ATVs and 3 Clevelands is about 1200cr)).

Regarding the RSi2 irons, I have some doubts. They look much more powerfull in the stats, more distance and much greater spin, but the meter speed is also faster (it's rated 3, same as my current G10) and I would like to have 3.5 for all of my sticks (except the putter of course). As you can see, I play most of my rounds with the free ball, so the meter is what the sticks give, no help from the ball.

That's one of my concerns with the Nikes, are they really 3.5 meter speed or a little faster than that?

And the second problem with the RSi2 - 3 levels waiting time is quite a lot.

The putter is the last on my the upgrade list, the basic one does the job in a decent manner. Sure, it does lack precision sometimes, but overall I am pleased with what it does.
