I just started playing Oakmont. Nice course. Hard Course. I think 17th at St. Andrews is my favorite. Ruined many a good round there. 17th at Kiawah also gives me fits.

Apart from most of the holes at Beth or Oak...lol.... The 2 hard holes at Andy would be the 2nd (shocking green to putt on).. 17th, a par on that hole is good golf...lol.

Kiawah 4th and 5th are Amen corner for me, if I get away with pars on them it's good and the 17th at Kiawah, get the lake out of ya mind and it's not a bad hole.

    -Roger

St. Andrews #7 This hole hardly troubles anyone else but me as I've noticed, I rarely land my drive on the fairway &end up  parking the ball in the nasties about 5 to 10 Yards from the fairway & the entire hole goes south from there-> into the bunker 2nd shot-> into rough 3rd shot missing the green. Of late since my short game has improved, I then get it close to the hole ending with 1 or 2 putts as the Golf Gods deem fit! Ruining all the birds accumulated and making me feel like I've gone toe to toe with Mike Tyson

I've tried going left FW with better & worse results mostly the latter.. :(

BPB #7  & Oakmont #9 as everyone's fav's are my expletive inducers as well.

    SweetiePie:

We all play different tee placement. In regard to that, what you do is different from what I, or anyone else feels. I have trouble with the par five on the backside of Andy's.

Yes, #14. Can be dicey. Especially with a stout headwind. Even with a favorable wind and a good drive, it's almost impossible to get on in 2, ain't it, because of the mountain range in front of the green funneling most attempts in different directions. Sometimes better to just drive through through the green and approach from the other side. It's Nick Faldo's all-time favorite hole.
