    Hi all,

I had an idea about putting. We all know that putting is the trickiest part of the game. It's especially rough for Hacks, Thru  Master. My idea would be to allow for a putting mentor. Say your in a threesome with your C.C. Members. Before the round starts, you could chose a putting mentor, usually someone of a higher tier. The Mentor would be able to see the same grid, breaks and elevations that the person actually doing the putting would see, and be able to talk about the break and the speed. I was thinking that since most C.C Members are in team speak or some other voice program, that this could be a great teaching tool, to help members, or lower tier players. I was thinking that this could be a C.C. perk, when hitting a certain level. You wouldn't want to use it for tourneys, but what a great addition for A.S. games too (alt. shot). You all are very vocal, so let me know what you think.......There may be things I'm missing......lol

yes not bad idea but i think best putters just have a knack for the art of reading breaks and this can not totally be taught to someone. also you think putting is rough for lower tiers, believe me,dont get easier as you move up tiers lol   gl

To me, it was hard because I didn't realize the different green speeds then, and they changed a lot and quickly through the first tiers.

Do it with Skype! In the "+" options of a conversation, you can enable one to see the other's screen and talk about it as usual!

With the new tweaks to the game I am in AWE at my abilities to barely miss putts... It is painfully obvious to what levels I could reach in this game if,,, so many pure putts didn't fall a half inch short of the hole... How many putts that hit the hole and don't fall,,, rimming out one or two times per nine holes... And I do know my eyes are lying to me when it appears that some putts walk right over or step aside and back at times... How green speeds that should remain constant in a round,,, either speed up or down... I constantly readjust as per my knew found knowledge,,, and readjust,,, and readjust... 10,000 putts later,,, still trying to find a constant... I know I have room to become and even better at misses,,, but then a miss by a mile and the the putt falls taking all the fun out of it...

    What 'new tweaks'?

You missed, they therefor were not 'pure putts'.

Says who? No two holes are the same speed in real life, nevermind over 9 or 18 holes.

To summarise, stop blaming the game, learn it instead.

It will save us from reading car crash posts like yours in future.

Here to help (if you ask questions rather than mewling and talking nonsense).

    Pure Horse Hockey...

If WGT is really concerned,,, they would reply... in a honest and concerned manner when a play submits a shot where he questions the results...But we know,,, it there is truth,,, when I say,,, each shot is totally independent and all results equate to the simple formula,,, ability and equipment...

So I would like to boast of my putting abilities and challenge anyone who can beat me as the world's best ,,, worst putter....

You would be amazed  if you witnessed the 18 holes I just completed at St, Andrews... I believe the total was 9 times and a new record for me... 9 rimmed putts...and it was a perfect 9... not one feel in the hole... You have to be damn bad putter to miss so good...And  no,,, I fault myself,,, not wgt,,, as I am certain everyone of those pure putts in my eyes missed  that meter,,, read,,, break and speed by a hair...

I am smart enough to know the only purchases WGT will get from me,,, will be cheap balls... and will preach my concern to all that will listen,,, that token investment being my right to call a spade a spade...

I can reference a hundred different scenarios that can well validate what you say is not possible...

As "alosso" wrote it - as you seem to be using external tools for your chatting - there seems to be an option as described by him to see the screen to view but this won't make you just by viewing a better putter even if you have all the information needed then you still have to release the meter for putting on your own with finger-errors involved....   :-)

Best is chat about it - yes - and this will give you a better understanding but your best friend is practice and practice again.

You can setup a MP with a fellow CC member in practice mode so you can setup all parameters and then discuss about it - green speed - elevation or drop - break - direction - force of putting but at the end it's all down if you hit the ding or if you rather hit before or after the ding and compensate or use the break to make your ball come back to the cup for holing it out. There so many different ways of making a putt that's the reason why I come back to the above -->  PRACTICE as much as you can.  THIS will only make you a better putter as this part of the game shows or will show your ability of how you play it or are skilled.

Good luck with it and keep practicing

PS: Putters do make a difference and get one stick to it - get to know it and practice again.  (w/o mentioning that the balls have or can have an effect)  Loads of parameters come into play   -> Sorry for so much information but once again good practicing.

PPS: No need to change putters every x months or after reaching x levels BUT WGT would just be happy if you would do it.   :-)

PPPS: I haven't checked what kind of putter you have to go more in details about the topic but just keep having FUN!
