I haven't noticed any change in the past year or so.

Here are some rteference numbers for ball durability from past posts:

                                      1    Dot     ~   90 hits

                                      1.5 Dots   ~   95 Hits

                                       2   Dots   ~  100 Hits

                                     2.5  Dots   ~ 120 Hits

Hits = shots taken from anywhere except the greens (including a putt from the fringe). If you use a wedge on the green, it will cost you 1 hit. All CTTH hits (regardless of club or ball location) cost 1 hit. Mulligans cost 2 hits (period).

The only time ball durability is not affected is when you are on the green during Stroke play, Alternate shot, Match play, and Skins games using a putter.

I've had a change of mind, as my last post indicates but I also have a roll of foil on standby just in case. What's the ETA for the Mothership?

Wheels is a member of my CC and he is really smart.. I am just going by what appears to be happening...Is there any chance it could be a random bug?...happening to some but not to others?...no idea.

Paul...re: the mother ship...more to follow. Good call on the additional foil...:)

They have never altered the life of balls here and have said they never will.

I don't think wgt would do it on purpose, but could it be a bug? (like so many other strange glitches). I use Calloway 33s most often...I have other ball types in my inventory, but have not used those recently, so I won't comment on them.

WGT should have 4 Dots for the high priced Nike's   maybe 180-200 hits?

I started a round the other day with a free ball with a durability rating of 2. I have a number of these in my bag and decided to use this one up so did not buy additional ones. It went to the red about the second hole and I thought I would end up playing the last couple of holes with the white rocks. I was still using that free ball at the end of the round and threw it away after getting into the clubhouse. Perhaps it is just me, but I get good usage from the balls WGT sells. Certainly better than the ones I buy for use on my local course. But I don't hit those very squarely so I do tend to cut hem.

I think that any cleanly hit ball should not result in a loss of durability.  Shots that hit rocks, trees, cart paths and other objects should be depreciated but shots that hit the fairway should not.  In real life I play with a ball until I lose it or damage it.  I find or win way more balls than I lose and have never had to purchase a new ball.  That being said, I'm old and not a very good golfer so while it's nice to play a $6 ball it doesn't improve my game.  I've only been playing WGT for about a month and a half and have been saving my money to upgrade my clubs rather than purchase balls.  As a result I only play purchased balls when I'm testing new clubs.  I would probably play with them more if they lasted longer

WGT balls don't lose durability - they perform equally until the limits of this piece of software license is expired. The company won't give away this source of steady income - more shots would be more clostly.
