    Hi there...

    I'm looking for some suggestions regarding equipment I'm carrying. I currently have:

    * Ping Rapture V2 (L24) Driver (Shoots 240 yds)

    * WGT Starters Plus (L3) 3 Wood (Shoots 205 yds)

    * Taylormade Rocket Bladez (Graphite) (L15) Iron Set (Shoots 200 to 110 yds)

    * Ping Tour Wedges 64-60-56 (L41-42) Wedges (Shoots 90 to 60 yds)

    * Taylormade Spider (L19) Putter

    * Standard balls

    What would  be your next upgrade? Wood?, Driver, Balls?

    Thanks in advance

    Martin

    balls,  try wgt tour sd for 65 credits,good value if you can handle fast meter. also will take a while to get used to increased spin and distance over free balls but worth it,can only help your scores to some point.

    I would seriously consider upgrading the driver to the TaylorMade R1 Driver (L48+). It consistently drives 275 yards and is very forgiving. And with a tailwind, you can easily get drives of 300+ yards.

    I would wait to hit level 59 and then pick up the Ping irons.

    Apparently, the 3WD is the weakest club here.

    L59 is at 88,515 XPs (corrected). You might wanna wait until then for the whole choice of G25 clubs, including the 3WD.

    In the meantime, I agree to Tour-SD balls which are slow against the Starters!

    (B-ES if the budget is a subject)

    I agree with Alosso.  Wait until LVL 59 and consider the Ping G25 complete set.  I used that set instead of buying a separate driver and 3W, as cost was a consideration for me.  Also I wanted to get the SLDR in white @ LVL 79 which I still use most times.

    WGT has some balls that are pretty good, compared to the starter, at a reasonable price.  I still often use the G13-S as a practice ball as an alternative to the Cally LVL 33.  Same meter speed, just not as much spin and distance for 40% of the cost.

    Others with slightly faster meter are even less.  If you have gotten any of the free promotional balls, you have an idea as to how those balls play as to meter speed.

    one thing though,the gi3 ball is cheaper BUT look at durability vs. the cally,bang for buck cally is prolly better deal in long run. unless  you lose one with lot of hits left on it ,lol

    Fitzroy1965,

    While the durability of the G13S is 2.0 compared to 2.5 for the cally, that translates to around 20 shots based on number of shots posted elsewhere in the forums.  They are still a good lower priced ball compared to the Callys.  I do acknowledge in ball choice you do get what you are willing to pay for.  The Nike LVL 61's I use sometimes are much better that the Callys, but twice the cost, for example.

    I (and others ) have disagreed with Solarflares about the G25 driver and woods before.  Some of us used them and they were very good for us at that time, and he feels they were junk.  My recommendations are based upon my working within a budget and using those clubs for a while..

    Some of it comes down to personal preferences.  When I bought them it was cheaper to buy the set and later sell the hybrid and 3w back than to just buy the irons and driver.  Since I wanted a better driver, temporarily until I could buy the SLDR @ LVL 79 my way worked for me.

    Best thing is to rent first if possible, and see what works for you.

    2 things  I left out:

    (1) Buying the complete set of LVL 59 G25's and selling back the hybrid makes them over 1000 credits cheaper than going the way Solarflares advises.

    (2)  The meter speed of the G25 set will be the same.  Going the way Solarflares advises you get a MS of 3.5 on the driver, 4.5 on the 3w and 4.0 on the irons.

    I found that very helpful for my game.  And that 1000 credits is over 1/3 the cost of the SLDR @ LVL 59.

    I agree with most of Solarflares later recommendations.  The SLDR and the LVL 85 Nike VRs are as big of a game changer as the Ping G25 irons are.  The LVL 73 X2 Hot 3W is a great club.

    However I went with the LVL 81 G25 3W @ 1/2 the cost.  I compared the 2 clubs on a free rental weekend on the Best of Par 5 and found that for me the X2 wasn't worth paying double to get 1.0 more dots of forgiveness.

    Again, always try to rent first and find what works for you.

    Absolutely go with the R1 driver. I got it at level 48 (when the black one was available) and it made a huge difference in my game.
