    MioKontic:

WGT make it harder to move up the tiers, then the real sandbaggers will remain at a lower tier but be able to get decent equipment because their level will be high enough.  Moving up the tiers quicker means they will reach the harder game earlier and not be able to make as much profit as they'd hoped.

I think both of you miss the actual point - if they have to stay longer in the tiers were they can not earn any money, then they are not making any "profit" at all. It is a balance of things.

Still, WGT must first and foremost stop pissing at Legends. That would probably eliminate many reasons for creating a new account.

Ok, now my curiousity has the best of me...what do they call them in Ireland Chris?

They WOULD call it a douchbag... but as it is.. irish women just use ole fashioned soap and water.. they do not sell them in ireland as far as i know.

    That just plain stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked the stats of a "multiaccounter":

    First day, first ranked game:

01.16.11 Kiawah Island: The Ocean Course Front 9 Hack 36

    Day two, Amateur:
    01.17.11 Bethpage Black Front 9 Amateur 32

    Day 4, Pro:
01.19.11 Kiawah Island: The Ocean Course Front 9 Pro 32

    Day 15, Tour Pro
01.31.11 Kiawah Island: The Ocean Course Back 9 Tour Pro 33

    Day 26, Master
02.11.11 Kiawah Island: The Ocean Course Front 9 Master 35

So it takes less than a month to go from Hack to Master for a medium talented person. A real beginner would of course  need more time, but it is still a bit too easy. I remember being a bit surprised (and even a bit disappointed) when I all of a sudden was a Pro. At that time I had hardly even glanced at my scores and the shop. I was a total newbie with a Pro stamp.

I do not think it hurts anyone if the progress is slower.

Have WGT changed the format now so your average can go back up again ?

I think our reasoning is that if the progress is slower, the player will remain at a low tier for longer and therefore forward tees making the course shorter for him/her.  However, because their level increases they will unlock decent clubs and so play off forward tees with good clubs and balls... which is what the legends seem to be complaining about.  So, if these players got moved up quicker, they would reach their true potential faster and therefore the lower tiers wouldn't be as profitable which would make starting new accounts less attractive.  Admittedly, if these players stuck to starter clubs then maybe it would hurt them more, but the likelihood of multi-account'ers staying with those clubs would be slim.

I did initially agree with you about slowing the progress down, but this now seems to be the better option.

From what I have seen, when you move to a new tier your average can go both up and down for a while until you've played a (unknown) number of games at that tier to get your true average at that level.  After that it then only seems to go down.

This multi account holder  gifted balls, driver, fairway wood and some other stuff just after your post. I wonder who's he gifting all that stuff to. Also your stats of this players shows an unbelievable talent for the game when he started...then after a month there's no improvement .... thats such a shame.

MioKontic, the point is, still, that it does not matter that he has good clubs and whatever, he can not play prize tournys or challenges. And yes, WGT should make the bigger clubs tier based, but still, if you need to spend a couple of months on a identity before you can start to earn credits with it, then you will not throw that identity away so hastily. If you advance to a convenient "sand bagging" level within a week there is nothing to stop you from doing it again. And again.

As I said, I think the progress from Master and upwards seem quite ok and I think that is where a sandbagger choose to stay anyway.
