  No opinion but facts:

  - It's allowed by the Rules of Golf.

  - It's allowed by this game.

  That makes it legal - use it if it helps you to have a good game.

  This is an old argument.  Should only do it when the shape of the green won't allow a putt.  But it's allowed, and not against the rules, so lazy people will always do it.

  You're giving away a chance for creative golf play, where success may come from a shot that narrow-minded people would not imagine. No offence intended.

  I rather be avid to look for opportunities. Frequently, I use Driver from the fairway, sometimes putter from a bunker. And before you criticise me, look up Bubba (driver+driver+putter for an eagle in Hawaii) and Arnold Palmer:

  I don't do it but..Its legal in this game and in real golf.  I don't see a problem with it. Heck, Ive seen some WGT players putt with driver.  I don't do that either but ...SO WHAT ??
