I told myself "Why not waiting for reaching to the lv. 100+ and purchasing the 'ultimate weapons' instead of buying equipments on the midway that will be dumped later anyway?". And yeah, I know... the starter ball and wedges that I'm using right now are ruining my scores and with the above-explained reason, I kinda consider myself going through the Dark Age of my WGT life and it's something that I gotta suck it up before I face the Renaissance of Level 100+.

I really can't tell if you're serious or not about waiting to level 100. But you do realize that, unless you know of a really fast way of getting XPs, level 100 is a long way off from level 74, yes?

You need 2,268,312 points for level 100. For me, I figure it's going to take me about two and a half years or so to get to level 100. And I'm currently at level 91. (Unless I've calculated the numbers incorrectly.)

I'd say try before you buy.I use the cleve 588's and love them,i use mostly srixons with them and they have more than enough backspin available.I use calaways lvl 35 if it's a major or something i need a little more driving distance and find they play with the wedges very similar to the srixons. Now my friend who uses nikes(lvl 47's) all the time. He  saw some of my wedge shots as we play AS matchs and was swayed to change from his ATV's.He bought the set of clevelands and  hated them and went back to ATV's claiming he couldnt get on with the extreme amounts of spin available.

Whatever you choose you will need to practice to get to learn the true potential of the clubs. As for waiting till lvl 100..dont!!! Get your clubs when you can it will make the journey much more fun! I play alot not as much as some but alot more than many. And nearly 3 months per lvl from lvl 95 upwards is a long grind!

Yes, I do and it's quite simply overcome by learning just what you can do with a 64W. FWIW, these are the full swing distances with the 3 CG wedges (64,60,56)-these numbers can be had by using the chip, pitch, punch, flop and full swing by swinging 100%--7,11,16,17,20,25,29,33,50,60,68,80,84,100. Imagine how easy it is to fill in the gaps when you learn how to back off a particular shot or use spin. All of a sudden that shot under 50 yards isn't so delicate after all.
Sweet! That's one heck of a way to do it without cracking your brain every time you execute approach shots. I've never thought of it! I used to, well I still do a math to calculate distance & power before an approach shot which is a bit annoying, but with this method... now I see, wow! Just can't wait for getting to the levels I can buy them! Thanks for sharing this priceless savoir-faire with us. I really appreciate it, Jim.

What?! Seriously? That long?! Are you sure about your calculation, Robert?

Since I started playing WGT somewhat more in a regular basis, I've been moving up each level in 3-4 days in average so I figured it would take me around 2-3 months to reach the level 100. If your calculation is correct, I'm dead wrong and have to change my plan obviously.

Is it like the higher level you get, the more XPs you need to accumulate for advancing the next level? More than 2 years and 2,268,312 points for level 100... quite discouraging even for a believer like myself of "He that has patience may compass anything." (ㅠ.ㅠ)

Currently have the CG`s and was looking at the top wedges but for 4500 creds, is it worth changing?

I do like my 60 and 80 yard wedges but not keen on the 100 yard one, cant seem to get same purchase , so poss may buy one of them (or am i stupid......answer that how you will lol)

Those 588s are just newer versions of what you already have (which aren't available anymore) with .5 more forgiveness. 1595 credits for an additional .5 in forgiveness seems a little steep.

Cheers Jim, my thoughts really. .5 forgiveness and .5 meter just not really worth it.

Happy with what i have, dont plan to upgrade anything more to be honest. Been months since i had to thankfully.

Anyone reading this who is new to game, you can seem to spend but then eventually you need upgrade no more.........but dont upgrade every few tiers, no need.

I briefly thought of the combination of wedges as well. That, however, will cause some problems of consistency since they probably behave differently, won't it?

The behavior is different, and could become a detractor. My wedge situation of using a mix/match/conglomeration wedge pack that changes, is something that happened innocently over time with no planning. I am acutely aware of the subtle differences I must address but it is simply a matter of awareness of it. If my focus is wandering elsewhere, as it at times does, the mixture will betray me, as concentration (for me) is #1 in terms of going low. I will admit that as these wedges go, the Cleveland 100yd and 80yd dish up accuracy that is without worthy competition

I guess you're right, Pingkin, especially when you said "try before you buy". That's what I'm suffering from my MAX Precision Irons. I got them 'cause they looked really prominent in all aspects and they are indeed! Now the only problem with them is that you have to be so focused on dinging it, thus becoming a freakin' hard labour rather than being a fun-filled game playing, you feel so exhausted after playing a round. Once again, they are really awesome irons and everything, but... I really do think that I should have tried them before buying.

And yeah, waiting till L100 is now long gone from my mind after hearing you guys. Good thing that I brought this up here in the forum and discussed about it with you folks.

One last question then... I think I'm not far away from getting the Cleveland 588s available from L74 and up. Should I wait or start playing with those Cleveland 588s at L26 - L31? I mean... Will the journey from L74 to L80 also be such a long grind?

True, the distances grow to each level and they explode after L90 which is still below 500,000 XPs. L95 is above 1M and L99 exceeds 2M.
