We've strayed from the topic ofwedges, but with the idea of adding a third wedge at the expense of a wood, personally I drop either the 3W or the Hybrid depending on the specific course or specific 9 holes I'm playing.
Maybe for legends it's obvious that the hybrid has to go, but playing from the tour master tees I can count on the fingers of one hand how many strokes I'll hit with a 3W vs. a hybrid and often the number of fingers is ZERO. For example: back 9 of Oakmont, either 9 of Bethpage (considering the 7th is often reachable with a hybrid and the 13th is usually not reachable in 2 with anything), either 9 of St. Andrew's... So then the hybrid is a better choice - especially as it plays well out of the rough.
PS. For CTTH challenges, obviously, swap out the driver for either the 3W or hybrid, whichever you usually drop for stroke play.... Usually the CTTH will require up to a 3W but never a driver.
