Since opening that particular account ApexPC has always extolled the virtues of wgt whilst remaining totally blind to any faults.

    Hence the name; Apologist Extraordinaire.

Personally, one feels Apex does a fantastic patrolling job here on the forums.

One more for the net s'pose...

    @Apex.

I agree with Robbo and Alan. I play multi-player games exclusively. Almost everyday. Some games go fairly smoothly, maybe one or two disconnects. Other times you can play 2 x Alt games over a total of three holes. Recently happened to me (1-1 btw).

"Wonder why it is that many players play multi-player games every day with only a rare problem..."

What are you basing this statement on?...have you done surveys?. Do you play a variety of multi-player games, and it's therefore personal experience?

"In other words - get a clue."

    ^^^ gratuitous, childish and unhelpful.

ps. I also agree with CD on his statement to the OP.  If M-P games are becoming so frustrating, then try single player format.  Nothing to lose.

    Howzit

I play alt shot games EVERY single day. I have hardly ever had a meltdown due to WGT and 99.9% of my games are with random people.

If a meltdown occurs in a game, it's usually due to a player with their panties in a wad because our team just won 3 holes in a row.

    Am I just lucky?

    Nope. I don't think so.

Ya know, at work,we say, "work smarter, not harder"

Follow that through it's logical conclusion.

    Peter,

I would have to say you are extremely lucky. I too play alt almost daily , yet I fall in with the majority of people, in that it is almost impossible to finish a game, much less play a game that does not have at least one disconnect that has nothing to do with a bad shot, or the games' score. I optimize my computer for WGT,  and do routine maintenance at least weekly. My ISP is one of the better one's with more than adequate download speeds. Aside from the very rare run on meter, I do not have meter issues. My only issue with this game ( except from the fact that I suck at it ) is the disconnection issue. How you and a handful of others have escaped this malady completely boggles the mind.

    Doc :)

I have both good and bad experiences with multiplayer games on here, MP and AS. Mostly okay. Maybe it's WGT's fault when it goes wrong and maybe it's the user's computer...maybe it's a bit of both, I don't know.

But I have to query your assertion (and others who say the same thing) that "the majority of people...almost impossible to finish a game" etc. How do you know this? There are plenty of people in the forum who scream very loudly and frequently about these problems and have done so for a long time, I agree. But the people who post in these forums represent just a tiny sliver of the total people playing on WGT and if we're talking about the experience of the majority then I would say that the vast majority of people playing this game do not share their experiences on the forum. Ever.

There are 10 million registered players on WGT and even if 99% of those are inactive accounts that still leaves 100,000 active players, and how many of those post in the forums, or how many of those have you played with to say the "majority" cannot finish a multiplayer game?

    Wutpa,

Good points. My statistical analysis may be based on a vocal minority, those who post in the forums, and the majority of Alt shot players I meet on a daily basis. But, then you add in WGT's own admission that the problem not only exists, but, "it's their #1 priority", and that tends to tip the scales.

It has been my experience that even if out of a small sampling of say 100 people,  90% says there is something wrong,  and only 10% says otherwise, chances are, something is wrong. Statistics can be skewed 180 degrees, but, for the most part, people don't "invent" problems where there are none.

I agree Doc. Especially when the problems people post are so similar in nature. Mainly disconnects in the Multi player games (which is all I play). Most of the multis have become games of attrition..I've lost a ton of free passes this way, so really useless to buy any.

Imo the disconnects started when or around the time that Exit Games changed their technology. And it is Exit Game's technology that WGT uses for multiplayer games. That may be why there are so few problems with disconnects in single play. Single play is WGT technology only. Could be as simple as Exit Game's new technology doesn't work well with ad blockers or something else so simple that everyone is overlooking it

Having played a lot of alt games, i would say that is a number of reasons which can cause a crash/disconnection. Leaving apart poor pc maintenance, i would say that wireless mode is the main issue here. I have played numerous games in wifi but mostly playing wired. Well, after 4000 games (provided you have a steady line) my disconnections in wired mode are 5 or 10 times the most. My disconnections in wifi instead are countless. Problem is not lying  only on poor signal (played often with my router 1/2 meter away and signal at full strength), problem is that wgt has zero (and i mean 0) buffering capabilities. Once the signal is lost for a millisecond you are out.

^^^ Interesting to see if disconnections are more prevalent in wireless mode, I am, for one.
