I can see my stats.  Where do I go to look at the stats of my tier or others?  How do I know what part of my game is in good shape versus what needs work the most?  What is costing me strokes?  Can you tell from looking at my stats?  It feels like I'm not making enough midrange putts, but maybe I'm just not accurate enough on my approaches and simply have too many such putts in the first place.

I'm past the "WGT is deliberately screwing with me" phase and am quite certain that any perceived inconsistency in shot length is due to my not understanding the interplay of variables.  That said, there is a lot to understand and I need a roadmap of what to focus on for best effect on my score.

Go their profile page and click on stats....same as your home page.

As to the rest of your post...just keep hitting the shots / putts and memorize..

    Practice makes..if not perfect..then a lot better.

Earnt more than me...u should be giving ME advice !!  ;-))

EDIT:   Esp after reading your 'Distance & height/ depth post', here in community help.

Seriously?  :P  I am on Facebook, but couldn't get the darned account I created through Facebook to play properly because of some browser conflict when I started.  So I made a new account and named it NotFacebookCraw and didn't go through my Facebook account so I could tell them apart, thinking I would be able to rename it once I got it going.  Wrong.  Is there a setting I need to enable to let others see my profile?

Thanks.  It's funny, I posted this query and then promptly shot my best round in months and bettered my longest putt by 20'.  In looking at the stats of others who have been around on the forums a lot, it looks like there is no glaring weakness in my stats.  My scrambling got WAY better in the last few months, so it is still being dragged down by prior ineptitude.  I also play a lot of uneven lies which probably skews things a little.  I just remember seeing a tier by tier breakdown of average stats somewhere.

Yes the stats are weighed down by the learning curve, and players who have played lots of rounds have more games at a better standard to off-set the rubbish we all had early on. It is also hard to compare stats due to the differences in difficulty between even & uneven, and the variable tee options now available allowing for easier set-ups.

All that being said - I reduce my stats to 6 key numbers, and I find them useful for benchmarking my game.

Stroke score vs Par 72 (derived from P3, P4 & P5 hole averages - overall benchmark)

Drive accuracy (assess the Driving component of your game)

GIR (assess the combination of Driving and Approach)

Ave Dist to Pin (the closer you get to the pin, the easier it is to hole the putts)

Recovery (Ave of Sand saves & Scrambling - how well do you get out of trouble)

Putting Success (derived from 1-Putt, 2-Putt and 3-Putt - holed putts as % of all putts)

I am a reasonable player - but a long way to go to get to the top level of the game. Out of interest I have looked at yours vs mine, and then against one of the top players.

                                       You                             Me                         Top

    Stroke (72)                 70.4                            62.4                        58.4

    Drive Acc %              83.13%                      87.95%                    92.63%

    GIR %                       73.26%                      87.69%                    94.31%

    Dist to Pin                   16ft                            11 ft                          9ft

    Recovery %               47.74%                      64.24%                    82.05%

    Putt Success %         58.99%                      68.44%                    76.11%

I think you can see that you lose a little on Drive accuracy, don't hit the green consistently enough. When you do hit the green, you are not getting close enough to the pin to give the best chance of holing the putt. The putting standard is probably good, but due to the average putts being longer, you are not holing as many as the best players. When you get into trouble, you are not getting out as effectively as the best players.

All up - you are going very well, and the stats will gradually improve, both due to weight of numbers washing out the early stuff, and generally as you improve.

Keep up the good work - and above all else - don't forget to have fun playing.

    Happy Hacking

Thanks.  I'm going to compare my stats after another 100 rounds to see how I am improving.  Obviously, there is a cascade factor to it.  Hit more fairways, means it is is easier to hit more greens/ land close to the hole, means it is easier to make more putts.  Also, I'm going to rethink my approach strategy to play more center green or below the hole to hit more greens and end up below the hole more often (yes, sometimes the two will be at odds).

Also need to allow for an improvement in one aspect of your game, making another look worse!

Example:  If you are currently not hitting many Par 5's in 2, then your 3rd shot counts towards your "Ave distance to the Pin" stat. As your long game improves, you hit the Par 5's more often in 2, and thus your 2nd shot counts instead of your 3rd. Obviously you expect the 3rd from around the green to be a lot closer than the 2nd from long range - so the improvement in your long game can put you further from the pin, and make it harder to putt in 1.
