I have noticed a few times that mostly the hack or a mature level that there seems to be a special putting move. I noticed that some of the players will shift there golfer all the way to the left then back to the right. These putts almost always seem to fall. question is am I not putting correctly?  Just wondering if this helps in putting. Thanks Dad

Unsure, but I think what you are seeing is them changing views.  They could be changing to the reverse view, or to one of the chip views.

There is no special putting move.

Try it yourself by switching cameras.  Best to read putts from whatever camera shows you the straightest view, between the golfer and the hole.

They're getting the aimer out of the way to study the line. You might notice that the putter switches to a club when they do this, sometimes.  The pitch and chip views on the green are a different way to view dot movement and generally considered more accurate.

The first time that you miss an Eagle because you didn't pull the flag, you'll understand.

Ain't that the truth. I'll bet Tiger Woods would have loved to have been able to pull the pin in the 2013 Masters.  :-(

Interesting!  Your stats say you have hit the flagstick 172 times.  A bit more than 2.

The point is that a ball that may have gone into the hole with the flagstick removed - might actually hit the flag and stay out - the flag sort of blocks the hole in some cases. Very disappointing to have a slow roll up to the pin then get a loud clunk and the ball bounces back 2 inches.

Worse still is when the ball hits the flag at speed, especially on the way down before bouncing, and ricochets back and off the green - as per the Tiger example can be into water, rough, bunkers or even OOB costing you a ball.

Then there is the famous WTF bounces where the ball hits at some weird angle and takes a ridiculous bounce off the flag and disappears into the distance over 200 yds away - never to be seen again.

So - the moral of the story is that if you think you can reach the flag - remove it. You can always put it back in again after hitting the shot so you can see where the hole is on the screen during the flight of the ball (putting the flag back again is for visual purposes only and the ball will now not hit the flag).

    Happy Hacking

Thanks everyone I will try the putt/pitch view to see if that helps my putting. I suck at it. Also a very good point on the flag removal. Better safe than sorry. Thanks much for the info.

I don't see that stat anywhere ? I know if I hit the flag that many times it was from off the green not 150 yards away , I do see what you are saying , Do you remove the flag when you are within 50 yards ?
