  Being a links course there is always a prevailing wind, therefore for those holes should always have wind going in the same direction. 

  It's so frustrating at times to play these holes with a completely different wind direction for each hole

  and always the same wind direction. I don't care what day or time of day I play, always the same.  Just like pin placement.

  After reading though some of the responses, I came to a bit of a different conclusion. And that conclusion was that there are good reasons for leaving it the way it is.
  
  Regardless, whichever approach were chosen, there would probably be people who would be unhappy.

  I've no problem with the wind being random hole by hole, where my problem lie is that not everyone in the same competition having the same directions/speed.  It doesn't even have to be the same, it would be more realistic to have slight variances.

  What isn't realistic is hearing players having opposite direction on the same hole in the same competition.  Take St Andrew's for example.  Having a head or tail wind makes the difference between making the par 5's in 2 or 3 shots and some of the par 4 greens(9 & 10 come to mind) in 1 or 2 shots.

  I agree. That seems to create a very real equity issue. I guess the only thing that one can do is trust that, if a person plays enough, the inequities even themselves out.

  I have a life in the real world, with work, children and a grandchild on the way, other interests and hobbies (one of them being a golfer in the real world) and that's why I don't devote every single moment to this game like you seem to have.

  If you had taken a moment to read my post as a product suggestion, instead of getting all defensive, thinking I was slagging the game off, you'd have realised that I'm not bothered about the wind direction, I do play with it as according to the way it blows but was suggesting that since I play in the real world and know how wind reacts, it would be good to have it being consistent through each hole, if it's blowing to the east at the beginning of the round, it should blow mostly to the east for all of the round.

  My choice of equipment and frequency of me playing has nothing to do with whether or not I can have an opinion or a suggestion, so I suggest you remove your head from your *** and stop seeing offence where there is none 

  I wasnt getting defensive but you are . I have a life just turned 55 yesterday in the real world and I have interests and other things to do as well . I used to do course maintenance on a private course and even learned how to play because of it . I dont feel bad because I can spend 20-30 minutes a day to play the game . The time that it takes to drink a beer I can play a 9 hole round .You act like you are the only person who knows about life in the real world .

  How the wind blows and reacts in the real world . Its not rocket science just go outside when the wind is blowing and you will figure it out .WGT is not going to program into the game every single detail or aspect of the game of golf as the variables would be and are too many .

  You can have an opinion no one said that you couldnt .An opinion is like a behind every body has one . But when you post it here in the forums it is open to discussion and feed back from all who wish to respond and do so .My head is not up my behind but yours sure is  and stop being so defensive . If you take offence to my post then that is on you its not my fault that the winds dont blow to your satisfaction .In the future when you play sit in front of a fan and see if that makes you feel better .
