    Me and Jack columbiacgt

It wasn't our best golf, but an enjoyable round anyway with one of the scottish warriors.

Jack got few rounds after three weeks of forced break, and I - maybe - was too nervous, as always in match play. (To do list, 1st point: handle the pressure).

I managed to hold on thanks to a 20ft. birdie at #5, but Jack was really unlucky during the whole round, with some putts burning the edge and a bad pitch lipout at #8.

TY Jack, good luck for your next R/R matches.

Match card's for Jack and myself.

The match really was as close as the card's suggest. Either of us could have won this match, but fortune was just about on my side come the end.

Jack holing a number of crucial putts on the 15th, 17th and 18th. 15th was from 36ft with my ball sitting 2ft away, a truly great putt and it had me wondering what I had to do to win. Jack almost holed a pitch shot on the 1st extra hole, just grazing the edge of the cup before I had chance to hole my 15ft putt.

Thank you for the match Jack, I'm going to be worried the next time we face off because I know you will probably get your own back and hole several more wonderful putts.

    Friday, April 8th

Deadline term should be over, but as I said many times before, we don't like to freeze the R/R stage right now.

I will ask to all the involved players to be their best to have their matches as soon as possible (I'll write a little note to everyone, but my personal Wall and the PM section is always open).

On next monday (April 11th), I'll give you the whole Elimination Bracket courses set-up.

The qualified players will then be allowed to play their matches, and we wait patiently for the latecomers.

Scorecard for my match with mike3226 -

That was a very close match and Mike was a little unlucky today with the putts otherwise it'd have been a different game !

Things started off not too well for me as my metered drive on the 1st went in to the thick rough and followed by a pretty average shot which didn't make the green ! Mike on the other hand put a nice approach to about 10 ft and won with a birdie.  We both then made nice steady putts for birdie at the 2nd to halved the hole.  On the 3rd hole after I'd put a good shot to about 5ft from the hole it was Mike who got metered badly on the tee shot and had a tough shot out of the thick rough which felt just short of the putting surface and made a good chip which just missed the hole. Mike conceded so it was me now 1 up.  We then both played very solid golf for the remaining holes and halved them all going in to the last hole.  At the 9th Mike's mishit a bit and ended up short of the hole and I hit late to the right and a little closer to the hole.  Mike then made a very nice putt which left me to sink the bird putt to win which I did luckily !

Thanks Mike for the game, it's always nice to catch up and we had a good game today.  I'm sure he'll rebound well from this and good luck to him in the remaining games.

    Monday, April 11th

As Round Robin stage wades to the end, we decided to set a final deadline to have all the matches played.

R/R Stage Final deadline: Thursday, April 14th, 8 AM GMT

The undisputed matches next to that term will be cancelled, and we take the group(s) standing as it is.

I request than to all the involved players to let us know immediately the result of their matches, in order to avoid any possible misunderstanding or complaint about a cancelled one.

As me and Simone are thinking what to do with the Group G latecomers, let's see what we have in the The Elimination Bracket so far.

First of all, Group B has ended due to Antuniccu unwilled withdrawal. Too many working duties to be able to play the rest of tourney. We sadly took note about that.

Elimination Bracket - Round of 16

    Side A

Starsandros vs mao69: an Italian Golf & CC derby, with two interesting players, capable to overcome two of the best european top players: Her Majesty PRIESTESS and pluer, The Czech Czar.

They played against in QFs of our CC Match Play Championship last february, and Mauro (mao69) won after three close matches.

TallAcePaul vs ryan4spurs: English Lakes vs Yellow Brick Road, part 1. The experienced Ryder Cup player vs the young apprentice. Ryan is a solid MP player. I've seen with my eyes (and with my score) and he played really nice in WGA MP Tourneys too.

simovoice vs KyRock75: the Commissioner and the Deviant. Two solid players, and a promising show to come.

coolswing vs villadeoro: The Match. WGA Lord and the brilliant spaniard.

Two of the WGT overall best players cross their path really soon. And the fight sounds to be one of the Italian Invitational must.

    Side B

geordieles vs PRIESTESS: I don't think Les thought about playing vs Amanda so soon, but this is another interesting match. The WGA Champ vs one of the toughest MP players I've ever seen. Worth to be (virtually) seen.

kam4122 vs jimbean346: English Lakes vs Yellow Brick Road, part 2. The Gladiator and one of the rising european players. They already draw their swords (verbally) in the last days. But they know Ocean Course will have the last word.

briobrio vs bobis: Woo Hoo priestess (and real PRIESTESS heir apparent) and the Czech Czar right-hand man. Tomorrow, in the european evening, we'll know who'll be on journey's end.

frealzu vs ?: Antonello is having his deserved rest, waiting the Group G second player. But if we'll decide to close the R/R definitely, he'll get a bye to Quarter Finals.
