    LOL...No

Sent the question to WGT. From their answer it sounds like they're pretty much up in the air with this until Nike does what ever they're going to do.

I'm sure licensing is a major player here. I can hear all the, " Where as the party of the first part " stuff now.

If Nike tells WGT to pull their stuff they won't have a choice. Hopefully that won't happen.

If it does I sure hope WGT is working on a plan to replace gear lost.

There quite a few old stuff which have been removed from the shop but those who have it still have it. Snake eyes wedges, a little example.

Exactly...If you bought it,they cant just take it from you...See a lot of players who still play with clubs that are no longer sold in Pro shop!

Sure they can. The person above has it exactly correct: if Nike were to not allow them to continue to use their name, then WGT would have no choice. If WGT were to do so, I think they'd get a "cease and desist" letter pretty quickly. Companies are very protective of their branding.

Now, I don't think that will happen. But the fact that users have equipment that is no longer sold is really not all that relevant. All that matters is if Nike will allow companies like WGT to still use their name.

True enough, but it would be awfully stupid of NIke to do that. They're leaving the golf club and ball business, not the shoe and apparel business. All "pulling the clubs and balls" would accomplish is pissing off customers, many of whom are Nike retail customers, with no offsetting benefit.

I'm with you on that 100%. I think it's extremely unlikely for them to make an issue of it.

I dont think it works like that . Nike will have already been paid for the clubs and balls which you have . What will happen is that WGT will no longer be able to produce virtual clubs or balls representative of the Nike brand or logo . Nor will they be able to further sell any existing virtual clubs or balls after either the expiration of contractual terms and or licenses between the two parties .

Unlike the players that you see who still have clubs that have been removed from the game as an upgrade the companies that represent those clubs are still here . Even though you cant buy the G20 clubs any more you can buy the G25s which replaced the G20s . See Ping is still here and under contract with WGT . So is Taylor Made Cleveland and so forth .

Thats why you still see players with those clubs . But if they leave entirely I dont think they can legally force WGT to remove the product from us . Some players have paid real money for those clubs which would be the problem . WGT just would not be allowed to make and sell any more clubs or balls under those brand names .

I know I will miss the RZN Nike Plats balls.  Perfect meter for me. I've looked at all the balls to see which one is the closest.  Closest seems to be the Max Pro.  But that meter is too slow for me.  All the rest are garbage IMHO.  Might end up just using the lvl1 Cally's.
