Default to house balls

  When the current ball you are playing with is out of hits and is no longer good, I would like it to default to the next best ball in your bag instead of house balls. Very bad that you can be in the middle of a match when your ball expires and now you are playing with the lowest ball in your equipment. 

  I now have about 5 balls in my bag that I am afraid to use in a match because they are close to expiration. What do I do with these? They really aren't good for anything. But if the system was as I suggested where they default down then I could use them all up and clear out my bag.

  Being able to substitute another ball has been one of the most requested items for years. It's not going to happen. The game was programmed with only one ball, your ball of choice, in the bag at the start of the game. The default to the free ball is is an add-on that was hard-coded into the game so players would not be disqualified when the ball of choice was gone.. To program an in-game choice would most likely cause all kinds of problems with game performance in addition to the problems people are already experiencing.

  You do have the option of deleting those balls from your inventory if you are playing the PC version of the game. In the mobile game, just use the odds and ends up in unimportant rounds like practice and CTTH.

  It's the player's responsibility to have the bag stocked properly before teeing off on the first hole. Make sure you have a threshold you start with that ensures you won't run out, say, two or three sleeves. Don't ever start a round with less than that and you'll never have a problem.

  You don't need to. The game lets you buy a sleeve of the same balls, even when the last one was lost. They ask you "buy a sleeve or play with starters". You have to click your choice.

  And even if you click "play with starter balls" and you change your mind during your round, you can buy a sleeve (you will see a red exclamation mark next to your ball, bottom right, I think) and play with the new balls (but the same type you started with) 'til the end.

  Thanks for the info, mkrizan86. I didn't realize you could still get your original choice even after a default to the starter ball.

  Just to clarify a common misunderstanding:

  There is only one ball type in the bag, all the others are in the inventory. Since the bag is closed during the game, no clubs and no balls may be changed. The former conforms to the rules of golf, the latter is collateral.

  If you want a real life analogy, think of the inventory as your garage...

  I don't see any chance for a change by WGT since this would only benefit us but not them.
