Reality is just a crutch for people who can't handle drugs. ;-)

I have thought about this for a few days now. The only answer I can come up with is this. I have played this game for years now. I play it like I used to play real golf. I do not have all the notes, charts, graphs and putter meters taped to my computer. I am a player of this computer game, not a student. I have not spent hundreds of hours mapping every shot on every hole of every course. I have looked at this from day one as a game to be enjoyed, not an obsession to consume my life. I take nothing away from those who have had nothing else to do. They have averages in the mid to low 50's and have acquired the Champion tier. This is to be commended not disputed. I on the other hand just play by the cuff and let it happen. I know without a doubt that my few HIO's and my Double Eagles were pure luck, not something I played perfect. I will still play on occasions exactly like I have from day one. No notes, charts or putting gauges. My friends I played real golf with for over 40 years would have told me to stay home. I can't play real golf anymore but will continue to knock a few around on this game. I can still shoot par or just below and that is better than I ever accomplished in real life. Good enough for me for a little entertainment.

+1 to the whole post Rich, and sums it up - it is a computer golf game that attempts to simulate the real game.

As a computer game, it should be for enjoyment and if someone has become a slave to the game, then IMO, something is wrong. I recently had my longest consecutive day run for months - 7 days....

I too play by feel, as I do on a real golf course, and like the real game, I purely play for fun (and witnessed by Renn in an alt game recently).

When I was younger I played tennis very competitively.......too competitively where winning was the only objective. When I discovered I would never be a top player (after a couple of thrashings by some top players) I gave up on that dream. Suddenly I enjoyed the game and a weight was lifted from my shoulders.

I then took up golf on a regular basis with the view to have fun and sometimes I could play a course to par. The game was fun even when mu scores were poor. It was a social game after tennis and the company was more important than the scores carded. That is the attitude I have on here.

Golf as a game is never consistent, no two shots are exactly the same from a fairway or a tee, and gamers cannot accept that, whereas golfers do.

Yes there are WTF shots occasionally....just like on a real course....only less of them on here as our grip, stance and swing are the same every time.

Just played a round on KIA back nine. I was -4 with 4 to go. How on earth does WGT program in how much I used to drink? I have been drinking coffee and all of a sudden a 1.2 ft putt misses. A 100 wedge in 30-40 rough goes 132 yards. I must have left a mark in the old days. Now the buggers have it programmed into my games. Posted a plus one and never lost a ball. At least WGT is consistent with me. By the time I get saturated as a Legend I'll have an 85 avg. and be accused of all sorts of things. Got to love it.

No-one who has seen you play will accuse you of anything.

When I view your profile Rich, your 56° Cleveland appears to be a rental that is over four years past its return date, lol. You might want to get CS to check that out for you.  : )

^^^ Lol, very observant Scott. That dates back to just about the time the game went to hell. Hopefully they won't charge him interest, or, take it away.

I'm reasonably confident he owns it Doc, but if I had that kinda thing goin' on, I'd be blaming it for everything that went wrong......fo shizzle, lol.  : )
