    PRIESTESS:

My Grief with these winds as well is that I can be hitting 3 wood from 200 30 against into 2nd at Andrews and the next player that plays can be hitting 89 yards 30 wind behind,How can this be right,Show a consistent wind for all and then it will be fair,All i hear is "Oh its the luck of the draw" Yeah right .Pffft off,

I have gotta admit that is a joke, the winds should be the same for everyone, that enters in to the same ready go, it is a completely different game when wind with rather than wind against

that's one of my moans too.

all huge headwinds for me on st andrews apart from 8th hole where it's always a 25mph tailwind and pin's on front of green. so it fails me how anyone facing these same wind directions can possibly hit a 27 or 26....they obviously had a lot more tailwinds.

Even the premium 500 credit tier based entries can be Heavy winds,How unfair is that to have a completely different wind for players,And both final rounds in the Opens last year were high winds,If these winds are not the same for each player then its unfair,If you teed off behind a player on a real course you will get his wind(No Jokes please),and the player behind you, and so on, If there is a wind change all the players on the course will be affected not just 1.And its not like it will affect you by 1 or 2 shots,, Over 18 it can be the difference of 5 or 6.

You're absolutely right about the high winds. I like them from time to time, but it is very unfair that players have different set-ups.

Las time I mentioned that, someone told me that players would share informations about the winds and thus being advantaged... Really??

yupps.........conditions however WGT want to vary them should be set as a standard/identical for ALL players in the tier to have to play in or else it is not fair....especially at Legend tier where the players are pretty damn good at this game.

if i'm faced with 5 or 6 huge full face on headwinds then I'd expect other legends to hit against 5 or 6 huge full face on headwinds...not  5 or 6 tailwinds where it's gonna be a lot easier for them to hit a lower score. (distinct advantage)

maybe not identical wind speeds but at least flowing in the same directions for all competitors....at the end of the day...in one off tournament you only get one chance so folks couldn't go back and play it over again to try and hit a better round etc.

    Just Sayin'

    update report..

have just finished a round on the old course at st andrews in real life and the wind was no more than 10mph all the way round.

finished the round in 75 which is a decent enough score for me considering it's only my 3rd round of golf this year.

just a guess....... probably not coming from the same direction for 90% of the holes ?!

on the front 9 if there was a wind it was a tailwind.....and it was only noticeable on 2 holes really. on the back 9 it was around a 10mph headwind and again was only noticeable on 2 holes. any crosswinds were relatively minor.

nothing like the winds we're getting on here. :)

I just played my last ready go in heavy conditions on St Andrews until WGT decide to start giving a fair crack at the whip.

    1st hole = 30mph full on headwind. ( I eagle the hole)

2nd hole = 29mph full on head wind (par)

3rd hole = 25mph full on head wind (par)

it's getting milder ??? not so!

4th hole = 30 mph full on head wind ( ball won't even get over the front rough and I feel lucky to take a bogey)

5th hole = 27 mph full on head wind (by this time my golf bag's flying like a kite)

6th hole = 24 mph wind facing 8pm and I can't be f*cking bothered any more so just eject from the game.

These full on head winds are now just a joke and I can't be arsed playing any more ready goes in heavy conditions because WGT's random winds aren't random any more. When it's 90% headwinds...mostly full on....then WGT's random = BULL-SHIIT

N.B. Meaning of the word random

"Random means not expected. Something that is unpredictable, has no pattern or objective"

I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything here, but how do you know it was a 10mph wind???  Personally, I wouldn't know if it was 5mph, 10mph or 50 mph!  As as golfer, all I understand is that's either light or strong or none at all.  I either need 1 club more, 2 clubs less, ball back in the stance and punch, etc ,etc.
