WOW, all those tables, spreadsheets, calculators are going a bitt to much in depth to the game when calculating shots can be a lot more simpler. Its a computer program so a lot is basic math and with using "feel" and hole knwowladge it makes life quit simpler. Personally ever sincwe i worked my wind and spin yardage graph i stick to it like glue and it has served me well.
Simple method i use if i'm using full spin i will subtract roughly 4 to 5 yards on shot immediatley. So if using 180 iron then full spin is 175. If i use NO SPIN then same club will be roughly 188 yards (by using Nike balls ansd hole dependant) i can manipulate the spin to get anything between 175 and 188 yards so i roughly know a few mm above full spin will give me 180 yards.
Wind effects clubs differently depending on distance so wedges could be between 3 and 5 yards + or - ranging from 60 yard wedge to 120 yd wedge. my 130 yard iron 5 yards, 150 and 160 yard iron 6 yards, 180 yard iron 7 yards, 195 iron 9/10 yards whilst 210 and 225 is 10 & 11 yards.
This basic guide gets me very close to pin most of the time and has been implanted in my mind so that im able to play the 10 second timer tournament and score not to badly LOL. Once your rough guide is in place you know when to add or subtract yardages on different holes becasue no two distances to pin are the same on every hole because a 100 yarder on one hole might effect club differently on same yardage, same wind on the next (excluding elevation) ELEVATION:- 1 yard for every 3 feet upslope, while 1 yard subtracted for every 4 feet downslope......................NICE & SIMPLE
