Ok, this suggestion would mean an overhaul and a fair bit of down-time but it is progressive IMO.

So for years and years the way of searching for games hasn't been updated and I've no idea if it's been on the cards for the dev team BUT having spent (on multiple occasions) ages unable to find matches or games or participants that match my criteria it would seem that there has to be a better way..... and there is!

So just to clarify, I'm referring to the criteria searching bit becoming a lobby rather than the chat area that is currently called the "lobby".

I would like to see a lobby that shows you what games ARE open/available rather than searching for specifics and potentially coming up empty and having to search again.

In order for this to work the lobby would display the following information:

It's relatively simple and any abbreviations could easily be displayed in full by hovering the mouse over them if a player was unsure.

Other than that players that clicked "join" would enter "Chat" (currently called the lobby) and get ready to tee off.

"Create A Game" would remain exactly the same.

    For the last 2 hours...

No Practice Stroke or Match or Skins and No Scored Matches or Alternate Shot.

"No Game Found Matching Your Criteria" :(

The golf game Winning Put uses the system you propose. It indeed works much better than WGTs current system. If you define your own game you usually get partners almost immediately. And there are always several games available you can join.

And if you already have selected your partners you define a password for the round and tell your people the number of the round and the password you used.

I've been unable to find a game for over 4 hours! The current system is badly flawed, so I hope they'll take notice.

Anytime wgt decides to "tweak or fix" anything, it requires an update. Invariably this leads to more glitches. This is then followed by the mods providing suggestions about how to turn off, or work around the latest "improvements". It also results in a lot of frustration amongst the membership.

I cannot remember any update where this ^^^ did not occur...even for the simplest of issues, like jamming more stuff in the pro shop.

Call me gun shy, but I think suggesting wgt try to encode a major change to their game without it resulting in major problems, is like asking Trump to give up his smartphone because it makes good political sense.

Be careful what you wish for...seems apropos.

That understandable caveat notwithstanding, seems like an outstanding idea.

Actually a really good idea, but unfortunately its one of those which would need a big overhaul. And I'm not sure there will be a game to join after that!

I've been here a long time and I understand why you take that view. I don't disagree but I also think that if it was on the table and could be worked on and rolled out in the future, it WOULD be an improvement.

This idea isn't an option that would be turned "on/off" it's simply a better and more efficient system, the likes of which is used by many online games that provide a lobby and would benefit WGT players.

Unlike American politics, this actually does make sense IMHO :)

"Unlike American politics, this actually does make sense IMHO :)"

Fully agree...it is a gr8 idea. There have been many gr8 ideas posed in this forum over the years. I have enclosed one from another thread which has been on-going for several years...nada. Elevating Andyson to Tour Champion is even easier ...crickets.

"I play in Sherbrooke Country Club for many years, we are the first French club with 250 members (mainly France and quebec ). I'm sure that if the avatar is available in the pro shop they will be many members who choose this avatar"

But in the wgt world, instead of a new lobby, or french avatars, or a tribute to Andyson; or any of the numerous other gr8 ideas posed by the membership, you get balls that meow.

Your point about US politics is noted...bad analogy on my part.

    cheers,

    ct

ps: I actually think the Mods are trying to protect us from the endless glitches due to a major update. They are required to update some things to continue to make money...but to do it simply because it's a good idea seems to fall on deaf ears. This may be why.

Agreed.  And with every "update" always brings more bugs.
