Bad enough to endure the shotty meter, but couple it with now frequent 20 second waits in between changing views and up to a minute between holes, you have a recipe for frustration.
After a few weeks of tracking, I am now completely convinced that either the server or relays they use have a major impact on meter performance. It's never going to be perfect, but when these server issues crop up causing unusually long loading, the meter problems grow exponentially.
I'd love to hear if anyone has noticed the same thing. This game has soooooooo much potential, but until the guys at WGT immerse all their resources in fixing the server and meter issues, the game will continue struggle to keep it's membership up and build a profitable business model.
To those of you who believe that meter issues are built in to generate revenue, I do not and will never comprehend your argument. Why would they risk losing membership and jeopardizing their reputation for pennies they could gain on lost balls, compared to dollars they could earn from getting out of BETA and firmly establishing their site as the best computer golf game ever? The old saying of penny wise and dollar dumb comes to mind, which I don't believe they are. I think it's just a simple case of ineptitude on behalf of the programmers, designers, and technicians.
Even with all the problems, it's still the best show in town. I just wish the game could realize it's full potential. 4 years in BETA and problems get worse with every update. You'd think it would be the other way around.
