I am sure that I missed something along the way, but why does my HCP go down with good game but never goes up when I have bad games?  Just wondering?

    Thanks

This system was devised a few months back. It's so we all end up moving tiers more quickly, so end up buying longer hitting clubs and more balls.

It seemed mainly designed to defeat sandbagging, because a player could not intentionally increase the average by turning in inflated scores.

Now Piz............You know that is not true. What was happening and Zag was on the right track was that people were purposely sandbagging their scores with bad rounds so they could stay at a certain level because of the Ready-Go rounds and the money. A guy might be a master and not want to compete at the next level so he would shoot a 29 in a ready go and then then go shoot a 39 or 40 on purpose in a ranked round to keep his average the same and not get promoted.

So this is no long a true representation of our total "stroke average"?

Correct. It yields the average of the best rounds at the current tier. It shows what you are capable of on a good day, not what you usually shoot.

I say it slows down advancement.  Those 58 average amateurs you see would be legends.

    Just saying,

    b0gey

Well i think it sucks.  Golf is built on a game of integrity and honesty, are there cheaters, yes, but you cannot change the HCP system to accomodate the cheaters.  this is no lnoger a golf game, it is just another video game and I will not longer spend money to support it.
