Looking for a little insight from other CC owners or anybody else that can help. I have a small country club ( Irish Ex-Pats  new members welcome) and to get things going I threw membership open to all comers and as expected it attracted mostly new & lowly ranked players.

However I have noticed in amongst the Hacks with 150 averages, several higher ranked players, up to tour pro that have averages of 150. They seem to me to be some kind of ghost players. They have no stats, no awards, no play history of any kind that I can see. They have recent activity only of things like renting clubs and have even add xp points to the club (very small amounts)

How can this be ?? How can I see absolutely no evidence that they have ever played, yet they get to tour pro ??

I can't give any names as examples as that is not appropriate for a PUBLIC forum ;)

Hello - My name is Yancy

Intriguables. I may have news you can use. As a WGTer who plays both the web and the app versions of WGT, I have seen what you speak of. On the app - the quick game choice be the 3 hole challenge against another player. This game will earn you XP points, thus the leveling up and CC contributables.

The 150 score is cause some of the app players ONLY play this mode, and it doesn't effect the "handicap".

    Just my theory and whatbnots.
Someone smarter will come along and answer your question for sures sures.

Thanks Yancy, I'm not familiar with the app so I don't know how it works vis a vis xp, ranked rounds etc, but surely it must leave some trace. These guys have no stats at all

And every other stat is the same, i.e all at zero. I was just concerned that guys were trying to artificially keep their averages high ( I'm always suspicious). But maybe you have the answer, which makes me wonder then can anyone playing on an app contribute to a club in a meaningful way, or why would they want to even be in a club, unless its just to get shotpal & putter pal.

My new club The Green Bay Golf & CC is also set open to all and I see these players all the time. I had assumed they were people who had just started a 2nd account as no brand new players are likely to know about country clubs just after joining. Just kick them out, the open membership has got me a few good players but with a new club it takes time. I was lucky I was able to bring 12 or so players with me so I had a stable and active club right from the start.

    Thanks Rob,

I'm not so sure they can all be multi accounters, or  even if any of them are. I certainly don't want to aid & abet any of that kind of behaviour but I don't want to make snap, uninformed judgements either, every beginner deserves a fair crack of the whip.

I am reserving judgement for the moment but I am hoping that this post, forum or indeed some of the WGT admins can shed some clear light on the situation.

There may well be some multi-accounters lurking in my bunch however if one considers what the motivation a multi has e.g. sandbagging to win credits, then none of these players seem to show any signs of that from their stats.

Very good point, having looked at the latest bunch of recruits it would appear you are 100% correct.

Having two different platforms on this game is a total pain and although I am not an IT guru I can see why it is not possible to bring them together.

Having mobiles in my club who play stroke competitions is fine but it is frustrating for both parties as we cannot play together.

Does anyone agree that this and many other things have got worse since Topgolf took over?

Site is slowly but steadily going to you know where. Also, I  do not think the mobile players should be in the same C.C.'s as computer players. Cannot golf one another at all. Should have clubs mobile players only. Just my take is all.

Those people -- or at least 99% of them -- are mobile players who play only in the 3-hole game rooms. Those games are considered practice rounds by WGT. Hence my eagle this morning on BpB didn't count.

Many of them are fine playerss, and I'd welcome them in my CC.
