    WGTicon:

As it should be. There is a reason why you always try to hit club to the fullest.

Imagine doing a full swing and then trying to hit with 20% power.  It will never be consistent.

You agreed then disagreed. IMO estimating power leaves you open to estimating where to stop the backswing. An avatar move is exact. You can repeat the same action time after time because you have a reference point to go back to.  Even the thickness of a line on a piece of tape or a ruler is subject to the way you look at it, the angle of your eye to it and the physical distance (depth)  from the tape to the screen.

Heh-Kinda hard to argue with you given the obvious but I find it easier with the moves.  :-)

You know, if it works for you, then you don't need to agree with me. I suspect my advice works best for 95% people but some of course have better way to do it. Same as I won' try to tell bollox how to hit a 50 yard shot, I will not try to tell sixkiller than putting from 50ft is easier than punching (as he holes out fairly often)

but then again, punching from 50ft will not work for 99% of others, including me

I'm not good at real golf, but I only carry  1 putter and hit it hard or soft determended by distance, and not what putter in my hand

There are two little arrows to the left of the meter bar. Use the downward arrow.

    Richard4168:
How do we determine what 20 power is without marks on the meter bar?

I'm assuming your question was 'tongue in cheek"?.....or was it? You could use tape and mark your own hash marks, as some have suggested, or you could install "WGT Caddie" (which WGT neither approves nor condemns its use) which has the hash marks for any putter or green speed.

FWIW...I use neither (use AM'S) but then again I "really enjoy" it when I forget to DBL check the correct scale, and a 12ft putt goes 6ft or vise-versa.

    Cheers

    Yes. What Mohuyu said...

"There are two little arrows to the left of the meter bar. Use the downward arrow."

The putter's scale defaults to a scale to use so that you won't leave your putt short when the ball's lie is on the fringe. (90', 150', etc..)

Most times however, you don't need that much extra range/distance... hence the need to decrease your scale to one that's more suitable for your actual putt.

Depending how far back into the fringe you are (how much fringe you have to putt through before the ball actually enters the green), the power you must add (to get the ball to the hole) increases accordingly.

In a nutshell... yes... the meter scale IS adjustable after one is "chosen" for you.

    Good Luck, and Good Practicing.
