This was already solved a few months ago, I created a channel on which you will be able to watch some Ryder Cup matches live.

That's all very well and good, but it's not what's being asked for here.

Almost every game online has the facility for people to spectate each other, even games which are 10 years old.

The social benefits of this are incredible, both logically and commercially. We have a group of about 40-50 friends who all play, and very often we have 5 or 6 who want to play and only 4 can. The 2 who can't would love to spectate, but because they can't, they tend to leave and may not even come back to the game for hours. This means lost revenue from people who have no way to be involved at a particular time and consequently leave. As spectators, clearly they wouldn't be contributing revenue, but the additional community feeling and banter which results from being able to spectate will only add to the overall involvement of the players and would encourage investment in terms of time (ball fees), clubs and courses/tournaments. Essentially, what I'm saying is that this request makes commercial sense, which I get the feeling is the overriding factor in the decisions.

While being able to watch selected matches is a step in the right direction, it lacks the social benefits which a generic spectate option would deliver.

I agree TotalFPL, you make some good points here. The ability to invite friends to watch games would improve the community aspect of the game, especially.

I hope wgt are listening because I've spoken to quite a few of my friends on here (and in my country club) and they would all appreciate it a lot.

It would be great if as a a spectator (only) you could see the club selection power meter and aiming point of the players, would do wonders to show people how a top player shapes his shot,

I know this would be cool, but obviously in big tourneys or when credits at stake this would have to be disabled to stop spectators passing on info to other players in the game.

I don't agree with you (sorry)

Because i think it's not be good to see power shot and other parameters.

It's the secret of the player.

We have to play to learn, to try, to make errors; like in real life...

Watch the match is a very good idea, but when you're watching tiger woods, you can't know how he does, just how he plays good...

Sorry for quality of my english...

    Best regards

I 100% agree with totalfpl and hahagolf! Adding a spectactor mode would allow others to feel more including in the game and would allow for an overall better atmosphere. Also, as totalfpl has stated, it would definitely boost the commercial aspect of the game.

If the reason it is not already added is due to the fact that some people playing might not want to be watched, then you could give the players an option. Giving all the players playing a spectator request for a certain individual and then only allowing them to spectate once all players have accepted.

This, on the other hand, I totally disagree with! The whole reason you play this game is to have fun and understand the fundamentals for yourself. If you alone have worked out a way to master a course/hole or even your equipment, it would be very unfair for someone else to come along and find out where u positioned your marker, your power and your spin! Learn from your own experience!

I hope somewhere in the near future a spectator mode will be added. I look forward to seeing it!

    Dont apologise quentin :) ,

I understand your point, I just thought it might go some way to dampen down some of the "he must be cheating" posts, if you could see the way the top players "construct" and "shape" their shots.

At the end of the day every shot is different, so even if I knew tiger woods hit a 52w with 101 yd range and a touch of backspin a bit of fade, and aimed off x amount for the wind, green slope speed etc, I stll would not be able to copy the shot, but I would be a lot more determined to reach that level myself, and a lot more impressed with the legends lol

I think the option to observe everyone would be great. BUT then you must have an option for the players so they can choose to play without spectators, that only friends can observe or open for all. There could be a link up there with "live games" where you could find all games that are played and then go observe them from there.
