Are there any tutorials available on Green side Bunker Shots. I have serious problems getting close shots.  I use flop or regular shots and very rarely get close to the pin. I either overshoot or undershoot badly.

    Thanks

Have a look at the YouTube channel of Young46. There are tutorials for bunker shots and a whole lot more.

    Bunker Play

This may help. It works for me. Sometimes slight adjustments to the factors/distance depends on the green speed, slope to the pin, etc.

    FBS means Full Backspin

LOL that is a strange reply.

Yes you can learn a lot from these videos, but then you have to put the hard work in to experiment and refine those learning's and take notes.

One problem you will have is the ball you are using. The rock is free for a reason - the attributes are not great, so there will always be a lot more roll out, so you will need to account for that.

Conversely Young46 uses some of the best equipment available - each combination will vary in results.

Yes the game has some randomness to it like the real game, but overall is a numbers game....as one player used to say...math does not lie

Edit - re Flops - this works well on Bethpage and even Kiawah, but only if the lie is good. Punch or even full shot is often a better method.

Always think percentages as well, a low percentage shot that lands 1 foot away 1% of the time is not a smart play, whereas a 10 foot putt uphill may be the better option.

    ^^^100% This ^^^

If you cannot learn from watching Young46's tutorials then there is not much hope for you.

    This usually works for me

I use my Max spin 60 yard wedge at FBS. I take the yardage then add the percentage of the lie so a 10 yard shot in a 30% lie is hit for 13 yards. I add or subtract the deviation for the wind and then another couple  of yards just for the fact I'm using FBS.

I can usually get within a yard or 2 of the hole using this method

Gary Pinhunter's site has a nice write up

    http://shortgrass123.wixsite.com/pinhunters/blank-cqy3

if you're using excel to calculate, then the formula is

    yards = L3+L6+IF(L3+L6>35,IF(L6>6,3,4),IF(L6>5,4,5))

Where L3 is the the yardage to the pin and L6 is the elevation.
