Just suffered one of those moments when you think WGT is AT IT.

17th at Kiawah, i aim slightly left of pin as there is a small breeze left to right, i swing  and i miss the ding by the tiniest of margins (and i mean the tiniest of margins) to the right. Now i would expect my shot to start of where i aimed it and slice right.....but NO, it shoots of straight into the water, thanks a bunch another ball gone.

To be fair i've had this happen before on dry land where i haven't ended up losing a ball or scoring a quadruple bogey :( but there seems to be issues with the aiming.

If i miss the ding and slice, let me see the slice.................it should start of where you aim then hook or slice accordingly not fly of in a completely different direction.

    Frustrated GM> :(

    Same here.

I had the same thing on the harbour town challenge yesterday the last shot coming in to the pin right to left wind very slight so aimed up to compensate and as with greymack, caught the bar about 1mm before the ding it went from being front right of the green to almost landing in the rocks at the left.

i've also had numerous times on other courses especially the par three's it doesn't seem to have any give if you miss the ding even by the tiniest of margins.

You missed on the wrong side of the wind.   Anytime this happens your ball is going to follow the wind.  And on that hole bloop, water!

Bogey's right, GM. You will never (did I say never) get away with missing the ding with the wind, especially on that hole. The ball will always take off in the direction of the wind not caring where you aimed. Sorry.  :-(

Appreciate you reply guys but isn't that wrong.

In real golf if you hook it generally goes where you aimed and then pulls left, what you get in wgt is more like a shank.

It's amazing how since i became master and had to buy the more expensive ball how water suddenly became magnetic to my balls :).................if you'll pardon the expression

Technically I suppose it is but the end result is what matters. The graphic display of the actual ball flight is a bit misleading but the result of a late hit, or slice, is to the right and the early miss (draw sorta) ends up left, the way it should.

On those balls and their magnetic properties-just know the deviation factor is worse with those when you miss, especially if you're using spin.

At the moment there is actually no hook or slice; it is only a pull or push.  There isn't actually any real shot shaping as yet, and who know if we will get it at all.  Clubs are set up for it (shot-shaping) but as yet they do nothing.

So, hitting early you will pull the ball.  Hitting late you will push... into the water!

I have to agree with GM on this one... I've noticed in the last week or so hits just barely off the "ding" mark are flying off the club like a major shanked shot and it doesn't matter the direction of the wind in relation to the missed mark. I use this technique to both "fight" the wind or "ride" the wind and recently its become totally unreliable.

    just sayin.....

It has become total BS and I am convinced it doesn't matter what you do.

If you have a good round you have been blessed by the WGT Gods.

I just shot 40 at St A. and it was a result of 1 lost Callaway Z in the bushes

on a ding down the middle and 4 chip shots from the fairway that all went

less than 2 yrds, when I hit them from 8 to 10 yrds. I did not miss the shots

they did what the hell they wanted to, same with the putts. Just my opinion

but this is getting way out of hand. I'm sure I will get a bunch of comments

back, but I have discussed this with over 20 different players this week and

they all have said the same thing, 3 putts have become the norm when we

usually see 1 maybe every 36 holes or so.

Dont chip if your off the green more then a few feet.  Period.   And your putting is exactly what it should be.  Averaging 23ft to pin with 1.86 putts you will see 3 putts.

I have played thousands of games on here and these things just dont happen.  99% of all bad shots are operator error.  Not WGT's fault, YOURS!
