Anyone have any suggestions on what to do with a jumpy swing meter.  Seems the whole game is buffering all the time.  A brand new problem that just arose after 3+ years of playing

    Wheelerbrian:

flash player 23.0.0.205  is working well.  also make sure you only have one flash version ENABLED(having 2 will wreck meter)   also try playing with WGT fullscreen setting(4 arrows at lower right)  image will be a bit fuzzy ,but meter is smoother!

My most frequent meter problem is that the meter hangs for a while and then jumps. I again lost a ball due to this problem a few days ago. If my meter gets too unreliable I log out of windows and then log in again. Most of the time the meter works much better after this procedure.

There is no known method to fix the meter for good. Creating a reliable meter is a quite simple job if you use the correct tools for programming your game. But with the flash based game WGT created it seems to be totally impossible to construct a reliable meter. For some people it just works. Some have problems similar to mine. And others have given up playing due to a unusable meter after having played WGT Golf for years.

While the meter runs WGTs network connection is inactive. If I disable my network connection with a denial of service attack on my own Fritzbox router the WGT meter runs normally. But then it waits to display my shot until I end my attack and WGT restores its connection to the server.

The most frequent cause of meter problems is that other programs or services you run in the background hog the computer sometimes and prevent the WGT client from updating its display often enough.

So it helps to create a new windows user and only use this one for playing WGT. That new account starts less programs and services in the background than a typical user account that has been used for a while does. It helps even more if you install a new minimal Windows system. You can repartition your HD or add another one to your computer to create the needed space. After that you can choose in the boot manager which of your windows installations you want to run.

    1. Clear your cache. History and cookies and all.

    2. After each round close your browser then open it back up for your next round and so on.

    3. Don't use a new window to play. Use this http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx within your browser. This is the biggest help.

    4. Make sure your internet speed is where it should be. http://www.speedtest.net/ or http://speedtest.xfinity.com/ I get right around 250mbps.

    Hope this helps!

I get this often and although I just usually shrug and get on with it, last night was annoying. I had just bought and equipped a pack of L34 Callaways. First hole, first shot, meter jump, lost ball.

    Grrrrrrrr

Check your video card. The only time I ever had a meter as bad as the one you are describing my video card failed the next day. I had to remove it and use the integrated card that came with the PC until I was able to get a new card.

Yeah, unfortunately I play on an android tablet so not so easy.

TBH this has been happening since I first started playing at the start of the year so I've just accepted it as part of the game now. Gives you lots of practise in getting out of dodgy lies though.

    Hi

I hope it's not a worrying new trend, I've been having trouble with jumpy flight!  After getting my second shot completely wrong and balooning this effort at St. Andrews, I was convinced it was sailing OB but suddenly the flight stopped!

Saved this time! It dropped like a stone right over the hole.

How long before this happens a split second after teeing off? Potentially very embarrassing.

    Cheers!

    Rich.

    Wheelbrain,

I have have done is instead of getting on golf thru Facebook, goto www.wgt.com.

Then when you log in, log in using your Facebook profile. Problem solved. But, keep in mind

you can not open another web browser page.........Happy golfing....Hope this helps.
