hi i am wondering how many yards to take off on approach shots so the ball doesnt roll past the pin ty for your help

You are a L101 Legend and this is your 3rd post asking how to hit shots that you should know how to play . You display all the signs of a red tee Legend . You took the short cut to get to the tips and missed the lessons needed along the way . That short cut that you took was the long way around because now you have to go back and learn what you missed . Good luck with your game .

Well, you hit the flagstick, for one thing. Had the same thing happen at Congressional #6. Drowned that one too.

If it was your 2nd shot with a 4 or 5 iron with a relatively flat, or flatter trajectory I can understand but mine was a punched wedge and coming down almost vertically as seen. I would suggest that mine hitting the pin at 85 degs or so then no way should it have rebounded that far back into the burn. Still it did, so shot and ball to you WGT.

I hear you but I have seen plenty of shots back up into the water on that hole. The downslope at that pin location is pretty severe below the hole. And yours was a pretty solid hit to the base of the flagstick.

Mine on Congressional 6 was a third shot, 64 degree wedge from a little shorter distance than yours. Just caught the flagstick the wrong way and splash she went.
