The meter being smooth, or not, is mostly about your computer, because that's where the meter plays. WGT has no control over how your computer is set up or maintained.
So make sure nothing at your end contributes to your meter or other game performance.

Some types of WGT games have long had connection issues.
If you avoid those types of games there are almost no connection issues, or simply clicking on YES to re-establish the connect suffices and refreshing the game page is unnecessary.
