  Couldn't help but notice that you're ranked at Legend.  Are you willing to share some of your hard-earned expertise with an underling?

  I had them back when..quite good set...but then I bought many clubs that were terrible and unnecessary ;)  The choice is much better now so..recommendations,

  Wedges 1st..

  Level 29 Cleve RTX 2.0  75 yrd.. 995cr tho or get the Ping gorge L42 75y @ 295 credits

  L39 TM ATV 50 yd 495 cr  <----- that's a must buy !! in fact I'll send it when you get there ;)

  L41 Ping gorge 100 yd 295c

  or go down the 60 / 80 / 100 yrd route, as long as they are well spaced ( to utilize the punch shots )  <--- like having 3 extra wedges in the bag.

  Driver would be the no brainer L48 TM R1 9.0 @ 2495 cr...

  coupled with the L41 TM R15 3w 895cr  ( which you can use as a driver too, till L48 )

  And finally the irons are another no brainer, everyones 1st ever set should be the L59 Ping G25s 2395 cr, true high loft which  you'll need on faster greens.

  TBH there is really no getting round the fact that to have a set to enable you to score well and last you into Legend tier ( which the above will do ) then it's about $75 to set up...which is pretty darn cheap thinking about it, for what could be years of enjoyment playing this game socially :-)

  I wouldn't tier up too quick either...if you're still at pro / t pro @ level 59, with the above clubs..then those, coupled with the knowledge gained by then, will allow you to recoup your investment in Ready Gos EASILY ..if not fund your next club set too !!  ;-))

  Once you have a decent set of wedges, we'll move on to punching /pitching / flopping..those bogeys will become a distant memory.  lol

  What a super thread...reminds me of days gone by when fellow players would offer advice and encouragement.

  Prudent advice by Andy regarding clubs....the longer you can wait the better. The G25's at level 59 can take you all the way to legend, and they have a slow meter speed. As you level up better clubs are available, but this set is very good.

  Yes you will also need 3 decent wedges, as these clubs will save you more shots than pretty much any other club. It has been a while since I upgraded so a bit out of date for recommendations, but Andy's seem pretty good.

  The key at your level is to experiment with the different shot types, especially punching (not only from the rough, but middle of the fairways). Master this and itis like having additional clubs in your bag. Of course, this is where 3 good wedges pay dividends, especially when you are using a ball with better attributes (especially spin). 

  Around the green is where you will singularly improve your scores - by eliminating pr greatly reducing bogeys, your scores will improve markedly.

  Interesting advice from Andy re tiering up lol.....he is effectively saying sandbag. And this is ironically not terrible advice. To often you see new (genuine) players tier up quickly, and they jump on board the WGT gravy train of constant upgrades. By playing practice rounds, you will not tier up and you can use mulligans to experiment the shots, learn the role out on shots, when to pitch/chip/flop, what spin to use (varies according to ball/club combo) etc.

  Hi Karen, 

                   Another Idea would be to get In with a good long established Country Club with lots of Champions & Legends who might be willing to take you under their wing thats If your not happy where you are, I hear of Clubs that use Skype so you could set up a practice match with one of these better players & they could give you tips there & then, "Take a Mulligan there, Now try hitting It that way, Full Backspin or a little Topspin etc, etc"

  One other point about avoiding tiering up.  Do not play tournaments for credits, except CC tournaments.  Finishing high (top 2 or 3)  in the free weekly and Virtual Tour tournaments for your tier can result in tiering up even if your average hasn't reached the level normally required.

  Also winning match play matches against higher tier players can result in early tier promotion before average required is reached.

  All the club advice your were given above is right on the money.  Pick one ball and play with that one, map your clubs so you know your distances with and against the wind.

  WOW, this this is terrific.  Now just working on leveling-up  to unlock these clubs--getting there. In the meantime earning/saving credits.

  Really like this idea -- getting more for the $$ is always a plus.  And since I'm just newly retired have to be frugal, even in virtual reality.

  Did just rent for a week (with coins from the phone version of WGT) a full set of MK3.   Not much you can do with the coins but rent clubs---very limited selection (and can only rent brands that are not available to purchase) but fun to hit with a better set -- a few more pars with a couple of birdies thrown in every now and then.

  ...... trying not to tier up to quickly, although did make it to Pro (go figure).  Think WGT got that wrong as was only averaging around 84.  Thought you had to average under 80 to make Pro.  And of course after I made Pro my average got worse and went back to 88. Not sandbagging -- just played some really lousy rounds---blaming it on my new putter :)

  I'm saving all your wonderful information.  Refer back to your green calcs often and have the clubs I want on my wish list.

  The idea of using Skype for real time WGT lessons/practice matches is very intriguing --- after I get my first set of good clubs I'm going to look into the this.  Any interest in a practice match?  (it will still be a few weeks before I'll be able to get the clubs I want)
