Seeing as you are one of the weaselly type that post abuse on someone's wall and then block any possible response, thereby denying a right of reply, I'll reply here.

If you had actually read the first three posts of this thread you would have realised that we are not hacks/ams and we do in fact know what we are talking about. Therefore your condescending post dispensing your superior wisdom was both unnecessary and nothing to do with our discussion. Hence the somewhat and warranted acidic reply. Now, if you would care to return to your den/burrow.

Phil, he or she is what we call around my part of the states a dogpecker gnat...hardly noticeable to the dog and inconsequential to humans.

    Hello Mark,

Around here you normally scrape it off your shoe, mutter an oath and carry on. Similar I guess.

Over the past few days I have seen a few "inconsistencies" as noted in this and a few other forums; my thought/question is...

Has any thought been given to the possibility that these of late inconsistencies may/may not be a counter measure to the many "unauthorized" wgt help web links? I have used a few in the past to help mathematically calculate more accurate shot control which have worked well until recently.

One of the many I have noticed is significantly more "influence" on the ball in wind. I have also seen more inconsistent putting; yesterday on Pebble Beach, 18th, front of green, 33' 14" uphill into a 16 mph wind. I hit for 45' of power and blew past the hole 7.9'.

I guess on a good note, if I improve my percision if it ever reverts back to what it was a week ago, I will be hitting the money shots.

    Just a thought,

    .Mike

Mike, 45' of power seems drastic...I'd like to know what your green speed was as going by 7.9' based on what you offered up seems typical for how you approached the shot.  Paul

    Mike,

I'm presuming you are on T 11 greens, If so I would have hit that 38.54 & rounded it up or down depending on the fall off beside the hole/wind etc

I'm not sure 45' was that over the top.  I play everything uphill 100% and then add a foot or two.  And that's on champ greens.  Downhill are a different matter but I find uphill putts generally need to be whacked home.

I will make one addition to this though.  If I have, for example, a 29 foot putt and use the 60 foot scale I always find the ball will travel a lot further when played a bit under full power than if I hit a nearly full power 30 foot scale putt.  With longer putts a bit more care has to be taken but I'm very much a whack it in putter.

I have to ask, why not 38.53?  Or 38.55?

Surely nobody actually believes they can move the scale accurately enough to start talking in 2 decimal places?

    Paul:

I appreciate your reply. Greens were 10, I've always done fairly well using my formula until the few days around the approx day I had this issue. I am looking at all the answers from those who have replied. After reading many forum posts and playing, it seems to me there are some inconsistencies to the game lately. personally i like some of it because real life conditions are not perfect.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Fook me, I say about 40 and swing. Seriously, if I need a slide rule and calculator to play this game, I am out of here lol.

But it could also be a reason I suck......

My mistake, I forgot to throw in green speed. Greens were 10, formula I use to estimate has served me well until the dates in question. I appreciate your impressive accruacy calculations but, I play for fun.
