Game is fabulous but having to wait 2/3 players to hit their shot just watching at their static avatar, is very slowing and boring too.

Suggest a no queue option so that everyone swings at the same time without having to wait each other. Maybe on the green it would turn back to default mode. Still we watch each others shots after having shot our own, but without the aiming time (20-30sec on average).

It would speed up games by 2-3 times so people would be playing more, and you could easily have more than 4 players each game playing together.

Think a 9-hole with other 2 players takes 1hr 15 min. With this option you would take your time to swing your shot as usual, but while the other two players are doing just the same, not sitting there watching your static avatar. Then after you have taken yours, you would rapidly be shown the other two shots without that delay during which everyone thinks about how to hit the ball. So, since every 9-hole has a 36 strokes average, a 9-hole game with other two players is about 36x3= 108 strokes. Since you need 36 strokes each player, you would be taking away the delay time 72 times, which equals to 1800sec (72x25sec), which is just 30 minutes. So a multiplayer game with other two players would last 45 minutes instead of 1hr 15min. But now sit tight as the best part comes in.

45 minutes is the time it would take even if playing with other 3 players, or 4-5-6 players (or more..). Thus you could've 8 players playing at the same time and still the 9-hole would last no more than 45 minutes. Isn't that a great improvement?

If speed is important, play solo. Golf in groups of 3 or 4 is more social. Many of us play with others for the interaction as much as for competition. Some even find ways to talk, such as skype.  And if speed is really, really important use the ball speed boost in you settings menu.

Or just relax and remember that golf, by nature, makes baseball look like a fast game.

If speed is that important, set up the game with a 45 second shot clock.

I thought I had stumbled upon a pool or snooker forum....

My question to the OP is do you sip and savor your Tennents Super or do you drink it quickly?

If you want to skull it, then play solo rounds and if you want to enjoy it, play multi-player games (although the stuff is fire water - why anyone would want to savor it is beyond me lol)

In real golf, how often do all players tee off and hit at the same time?

Frequently I should think Alan, when you've necked half a dozen cans plus of Brain Damage.

Even more fun on the greens, where the balls are likelier to hit each other.

This thread does remind me of my grandfather's flawless handicap system. He'd take a jug of whiskey with him. The winner of each hole had to take a large swig.

By the turn, the game usually evened right out.

Some of the footwear in the 2nd row looks a bit iffy for MCC members. Beach shoes and brothel creepers.
