In the aggregate, the personal nature of a ratings system would be more apparent than real. The personal nature would only be in effect if the N were low. Once the N reaches a decent size (say > 30), the bias introduced by the personal nature of the ratings system would tend to drop out (i.e. have relatively little to no effect).
