If it breaks more than 2 cups or half a square in 15 feet, you probably won't make it anyway. Dingers go directly with the break so try to off ding it into the break. You can miss that dinger up to an inch and that ball won't move over but a half cup either way. I off ding every putt at least a quarter inch, just to make sure i keep it out there on the high side so it at least has a chance to fall. On the short side, the ball never had a chance to go in. In other words, I move the arrow over and off ding it just to make sure it tries to go that way immediately. 1 cup, 2 cups, half square, 3/4 square, or full square with at least a 1/8 to 1/4 inch miss on the correct side of the dinger line. Outside of 15 feet, you did something wrong on the approach and are in recovery mode. Some putts are not meant to be made no matter how hard you try and a ruler is taking it a bit too far. As far as drives or approaches go, left or right can be judged by 5,10,15 mph wind in increments of 5. Above 15mph is getting a bit strong and would not be expected to be spot on accurate but just figure out what a 5 left or right is...5, 10 15 .....game wasn't meant to use a ruler.
