As for clamouring to buy these .... whatever they are? Dupes one and all, unless you're buying them just because you can't control that side of your brain

WGT artfully transitioned from the Nikes to the Callaways under the guise of a slight meter change. Business as usual with the performance compared to the now obsolete Vapors, they just keep the line moving for those that wanted the Vapors.   :-)

Nike would have pulled out because they were less than satisfied with the 'deal' between TopGolf and Nike. Nike was the premier club brand so it would be juicy to know the reason they left. Was it money? Or, perhaps Nike thought they'd already dominated the WGT market and were happy enough to see their product remain on WGT in the hands of players?

In any case my suggestion is to set a limit on the top rating of clubs. This will not only help with business longevity, but will also go some way to appeasing competing golf club manufacturers that are sensitive to their relative product standings.

I don't see Titleist or Mizuno here. Perhaps the reason for which is mentioned above.

    Btw, re:樹欲靜而風不止。。。your translation is accurate。

The game will exterminate itself if clubs keep getting better. What's the point, apart from attempting to bale as much hay while the sun shines? Going to have to brainstorm other revenue sources other than selling "upgraded" clubs, otherwise WGT will living on borrowed time. Pull your heads in.

I agree with this yet players still clamour for new clubs, improved clubs. With the top players shooting low 50's is the goal to see the top players shooting high 40's....then what?

Unfortunately WGT only sees revenue, not longevity and as scoring has become so unrealistic (that horse bolted a long time ago and no-one could be bothered to close the gate), why stop producing better clubs with better attributes as this is one area they can sell more product.

If attributes improve, it should have a risk versus reward equation.

With many players who do upgrade, many of these are not spending new money, just using accrued credits, therefore it is debateable how much new money is generated at the higher levels.

I cannot see the reins being pulled in, and the game will slowly become another TWO. The only difference that mastering the game will take longer until those high spec clubs become available....then the players will get bored.

With the disappearance of Nike, this really was the opportunity to peel back equipment, especially high attribute balls, but this would cost the business in terms of revenue. Especially balls, the big revenue earner.

The "brainstorming sessions" result in gimmicks or poorly implemented releases so I have no confidence that anything will change.

WGT has never cared about loyalty and whilst new players arrive to replace the players leaving, nothing will change. A business should strive for excellence, WGT strives to maximise profits.

The trees long for peace but the wind will never cease.

Any 3w that doesn't possess spin attribute of 1.5 won't hold a green..

The BB and Nike top shelf 3w are affected by the breeze more than lower shelf 3w because of the 1.5 spin attribute. Keep in mind too that the longer the distance, the more movement in the air.  I own both.

Precision doesn't matter, trees are trees and water is wet, however precise Bertha is. Coupled with WGT's silky smooth meter, on long par5 s adrenaline levels rise sharply. Personally, I love it, each to their own I say but it could be a close run thing.

RSG The par3 11th. 241yds into the wind. Big Bertha off the tee.

    No, I didn't pray

    Cheers!

    Rich.

Precision matters tremendously to some of us.

    BTW..very nice shot.

Sorry, I agree 100%. I didn't explain that well first time round. The BB is precise when you ding it, miss and the forgiveness is wether you see your ball again or not. It's opened up areas of woodland never previously explored to me. What I meant was, if it's headed for the trees it doesn't matter which tree I hit. Same for water. I'd trade a bit of that precision for a bit more forgiveness if I miss the ding.

I tried the Nike, went back to Bertha. Learn to hit the ding and it's great, just the same with the other clubs in my bag. With Bertha though, the results of a missed ding [disaster] are just, .. well bigger!

Thanks too, pleased with that hit myself (dinged it). One day one of them might fall in for me.

    Cheers!

    Rich.

Again missing the ding on it...I personally have never had an outrageously bad result. To the contrary, I have had very good shots as a result of a missed ding on the BB. But many reports of rank shots have abounded, including the great FMags by memory.

But therein lies the issue, shouldn't a missed ding result in a bad shot? On WGT the swing and grip are the same shot in, shot out, would this not be the equivalent of an inside out swing (or vice versa).

Yes it would hurt my scoring badly, and potentially aid players who use .........other aids....

You should be able to Ding every shot to be true, but the problem is with a number of issues with the meter it's very hard to Ding every shot.

Miss the Ding on the BB and you're in trouble. I think more trouble than you should have.

I did count my dings over 4 rounds some time ago - driving was at 44% (all drives using Driver, 3W or irons) approaches a dismal 22% (mostly irons) and putts at 53%.

Now I tried to hit the dings....often I will try to hit early or late for the wind...these were for my curiosity.

Now most of those did not miss the ding by much, but over those 4 rounds (BOF, CB, Merion, BOH) I was 18 under.

I am an average player.....and still did OK. With that ding percentage, it probably should have been worse.

nice bottle of attitude adjustment fluid will make EVERYTHING look shiny for a while.

LOL   used to call it Liquid Courage or Liquid Dumbass when I was in the service.

very common, the terms liquid courage/dumbass, depending on the person.   it cudd mean going out for anti-ambush patrol, or returning !   both were very telling of the person using the terms.   the good old days ?  my nickle.

If you missed the ding in some sort of crosswind with the Nike`s all hell broke loose, with the Cally`s, NOT! Really like the Cally`s, sold my Nike`s :) Much more "feel" in Callaway, just shot 61 at S:t A - full length - and it`s suddenly fun to play again :)

Verrrry inter-esting....  [as Arte Johnson used to say]

Is it possible that the extra 0.2 meter is just enough for you to hit consistently closer to the ding?  What about the 3w and driver?  Anyone else notice this?

    --Berto

The 0.2 slower meter makes a little difference for the better, for me that is. I like clubs with a slower meter, my current driver has a 3.5 meter and i`m going to replace it with a 4.0 or slower.
