Dear WGT,
Logging in and seeing this news, I went from excited to surprised in a matter of seconds. Once I found out it was Pay to Play, especially at $1.50 a round, I quickly judged it and though, wow, this is absurd. Then wondering if it was $1.50 per play, or one time fee was how it worked. I still don't know that answer but my next point will prove it moot.
I clicked to play CTTH. I was INSTANTLY.. as in, instantly!!!! turned off by the "3d" terrain. It is horribly textured, and trivializes the game to me. It looses it's authentic feel before I can even tee off. I don't even feel like I'm on the golf course (well, yea)... The fact that you're looking to expand quicker for us is great, really - Thank you WGT for listening. The thing is, it isn't worth the quality drop, it really shines WGT in a bad light. It brings the whole game's quality down. I'd rather play BPB till my fingers fall off than step on those courses for money.
To be completely honest - I wouldn't even play on them if they were free, because they just don't have the feel that the other courses do. I may play them once in a blue moon to mix things up AT BEST. I'm pretty sure your "masses" agree here, and will be interesting to see how you address this.
Churn some courses out, charge one time fees if YOU MUST - We'd be a lot happier. Given you're ALWAYS going to have internet schmucks complaining about every decision you make, undermining them all, thinking they know best, but come on, it is a business after all and you're not here for charity. Just don't go this cheaply rendered 3d BS route.
Oh and please, fix your meters ;) Make them client side? Idk what I'm saying. Never mind.
Best,
Your slightly less happy dedicated golfer.
