Hi all. I am not sure where to post this question, but hopefully someone can advise me.

The new timeout option makes sense. However, it adds yet another filter that limits who you can find to play a game. I do not see a "select all" option. Since its introduction I am having no luck finding random games. Doesn't this addition decrease a players' ability to find a game that matches the criteria?

I can't do the math (sorry - way too old to remember the calculations! lol) but don't we now have:

Type of game (stroke, match, etc.)

    Course

    Holes

    Player rank

    Rep

    Timer

Now we have  timeouts allowed. Again, I understand the idea, but factoring in all these options minimizes the chance to set up or join a random game.

Perhaps I am off base. I would enjoy hearing from the community.

    Thank you.

I hear you, I would rather have a "Select all" and if I don't want to play a game were 7 timeouts are allowed then I can cancel and re-search for a new game. Way too many filters that limit game opportunities.

I doubt it. 2 is the default number for setting up a game so the only games you're not seeing would be from someone that set one up for more than 2. For the life of me, I don't understand why that would be worth changing. If someone anticipates timing out more than twice, I'd say there's some monkey business going on.

While I do kinda like the time out feature when playing those that I know well, I'd really have liked to see WGT activate the "Player Reputation" option that has been grayed out for at last two or three years now. This would filter out those with poor (orange) flags and who seem to rarely complete a round, especially when they get behind.

Of course it does. Likely they will add the ANY option soon. Indeed it's almost useless at the moment. This option is mostly for 30 and 45 seconds games where you better have more than 2 timeouts otherwise be sure about half of the times you'll have one player disqualified for timing out no exceptions.

I remember i used to play up to a couple of years ago with a different account and when they first introduced the timer option (3-4 years ago) there was no ANY option neither........ ...... .... ..

They're just very very slow with the updates.

On a 45-secod clock?   I do.  It is my toughest opponent.  I have lost more matches due to timing-out the 45 second clock than...well, than I've lost!

But, then again, my hands don't work so well.  I'm a bit of a crip.

(most obvious response: "Don't sell yourself short, dchallenger....you're a tremendous crip!")

Well that's a jolly bit of sense. Let's increase the number of timeouts in a fast game just in case we're not fast enough to play in the fast game. Never thought of it that way.

Default timer is 60 seconds. Most of the games I join have that timer. So if you join a shorter timer game, it's easy to forget it's short. Consider also sometimes we join a game without checking the timer, thinking it's a 60sec game.

More timeouts are just meant to save you not loose the previous part of the game you did play. More timeouts don't incite nor allow to take it easy, they're there "just in case". I played with people scoring -3 after 5 holes and having a great game together, but then relaxing and timing out and kicked out on last 3 holes. A few more timeouts add very little time compared to the time saved playing with a shorter timer.

They should not of changed it in the first place. The default 3 timeouts was just right but WGT decides to break yet another piece of code. Wasting resources that could be used elsewhere, like fixing the cursor bug in the chat box. (when the cursor focus jumps out of the box when the screen changes as you type). I've wasted more time re-typing, no wonder I started timing out lately.  :-(
