Hi everyone.  I joined almost 3 weeks ago and am having a blast so far.  Played a lot of blitz and practice rounds just trying to get a feel for things.  That meter is one hell of a quick.  Trying to earn free credits to upgrade clubs but is slow going.  May have to open up the wallet soon.

I have had the pleasure of watching Young and Mags on Youtube.  Dam those guys are good.  I'm thinking it would be fun to stream some of my play on Youtube.  Maybe I'll be lucky enough to hole out a shot in blitz for the world to see.  Just wondering if I could stream on my laptop?  These are my specs i5-6200 CPU, 4GB Ram and Intel HD Graphics 520.  Internet speed is decent 20Mbps down and 5Mbps up.

Since you aren't playing any ranked rounds, I would suggest waiting for a bit more before you buy any clubs.  Buying lower level clubs is just wasting your credits, as you will need to upgrade them as you tier up higher.

Probably what everyone feels is the best set of irons available to lower levels, the Ping G25  irons are available @ level 59.  They are a hugh game changer. Try earning free credits by watching videos and doing surveys if you have the time.

But if not, wait for a special on balls before you buy credits.  WGT has offered Nike L40 Red balls and Max slow meter balls in the past with one free sleeve for any 1 time credit purchase of $20.

Nike clubs have already left and Nike balls will follow soon.  So that offer may not be back.  Max balls are slow meter balls, but don't offer any or very much spin.  Hopefully some other brand of good name brand balls will be offered if the Nike offer goes away for good.

Practice rounds and Blitz games do not have an effect on your average.  If you hope to improve more you will have to start playing ranked rounds and moving your average.. That's why you are a lvl 49 Pro with an average of 150.

Also no stats count.  If you are enjoying the game try playing ranked rounds instead of practice rounds.  You are missing out on the social part of the game also.  Make some friends, and join a Country Club once you have a real average.  Play some multi-player games.  There is a lot more here to enjoy.

As far as what you are playing now I have no info about what's required to stream anything.  And ask yourself who would want to watch what you are doing?  It won't help anyone learn anything.  As you admitted, by watching Young46 and Fmags you have learned a lot.

Good Luck and enjoy the game.

    Very good advice from phred.

Not  quite the same thing as streaming, but recording your games and then watching to see what you did right or wrong can be very helpful in improving your level of play. This is the software I use:

As a bonus, you can upload games to YouTube if you like.

Thanks for the advice phred.  I do spend about 1hr watching videos and doing surveys.  Not making a lot of credits but every little bit helps.  Will keep at it and will open up my wallet if I have to.

I did give streaming a try with OBS.  Streamed a blitz then watched it after.  Picture quality was not the best,  cpu usage goes sky high, meter was a little sketchy and there was a little lag on a hole or two.  Not totally unexpected given I use a laptop.

I did give recording a try on OBS K7JBQ.  Was much better than streaming.  Picture quality was not affected and there were no issues like there was with streaming.  I like the idea of being able to watch games and seeing what I did right or wrong.  Only issue I did have was OBS records in flv and could not open file.  Is a known issue so you can use OBS to convert flv to mp4 then easy upload to YouTube.

My guess is that 4GB Ram is not enough, even though I've streamed w/ less. But the meter on my laptop was affected. My CPU was almost always maxed.

I think 8GB RAM is a bare minimum, although I suggest you find out for yourself because I am not completely sure.
