Is there a game changing club I should have or be waiting to get? As far as I can tell I have about as good as I can get at my level. Finally getting used to Legend tee's and green speeds and the new clubs I got about the same time. Took a few weeks off after my game got bad and finally getting my stats to go up and feeling more confident on my shots. Thanks for your thoughts.

I think when you get to Level 97 that you'll find the Callaway irons would be a significant upgrade. For right now, I don't think there's any different clubs out there for you. I have the Nike clubs that are similar to those Callaway clubs. When I got those and coupled them with Nike Level 81+ balls, I saw a marked improvement.

As an example, I track my sub-30 rounds. Before I used the higher level clubs, I was able to shoot a sub-30 round about once every 8 days. After switching to the Nike clubs and Level 81 balls, I shoot a sub-30 round (on average) every other day. And in the month of February, I had 28 sub-30 rounds.

By the way, I'm probably in the minority on this one, but I think the distance to the pin stat is one of the most overrated stats on here. The stat is too easily skewed.

You dont need better clubs you need a better game . As BMX pointed out its your short game thats the problem . You need to get that 16 ft. down to 11 or better and thats done by having a better short game . So you need to work on ball placement and shot selection .

Ball placement says it all knowing where to place your shots and how to attack the pin . On every hole there is an attack point for easier putts . Once you learn where that point is that should always be your attack point as much as possible .

Shot selection learn to use the flop pitch and especially the punch shot .These 3 are key for a good short game . All of your approach shots wont be a full wedge to the green and these 3 will bail you out as well as put you in there for easy putts once you learn how to use them

. The punch is a deadly shot to add to your game espicially with the wedges you have . Its a great go to for when you are in between clubs instead of trying to choke a full wedge when its easier to either choke or spin a punch . It will help you get closer to the pin every time for easier putts .

Play some practice rounds use the rock first until you get used to judging and hitting the punch then use your go to ball to dial in . Play all of the courses so you can see how it will be affected during play and what the results will be as well .

As far as upgrades go you still have aways to go before you can get the top clubs . What you can do is start doing the credit offers videos and surveys to build up a credit stash . The ball you are using is fine but you could step up to the L35 Cally at 300 credits for a better ball . You get a little less spin which with the Cleveland wedges can sometimes be just a little too much and thats with no spin applied .

But work on the first 2 before starting the last 2 . Good luck and hope this helps you with your game .

Thanks guys! I have thought about a different ball a lot. I think I might get more comfortable with my set up before I do that-  maybe a couple more weeks yet.

Practice? Never played a practice round yet. Lol. I guess that might have skewed my stats a bit because I have my learning rounds all mixed in too. I have dropped my closeness to the pin stat from 16.87 down to 16.15 in the last week or so. I think I am making very good progress there.

I agree these wedges have too much spin sometimes.

I think my putting from 0-5 is my worst stat. Further putts I am ok I guess for my level.

In my opinion, the putting stats are meaningless. You can safely ignore them.

And as an aside, I defer to lonnie's advice.

At times, you should play around with putting some top spin on them. For the most part, I don't adjust the spin on them at all. But it takes a lot of practice to learn when to put backspin, topspin, or no adjustment on spin (i.e. leave at default).

A good short game will take you a long way. Just look at my distance to pin. It's virtualy identical to yours (mine = 16.13 feet). But I've been fairly successful, making it to Tour Legend. And right now, my average isn't that bad considering that I haven't saturated yet at the new tier.

The top Cleveland wedges have a 4.5 spin and the L33+ Cally ball 3.5 spin . So thats 8.0 spin and thats a lot . Its why I went to the L35+ Call instead a little less spin but a little more distance .Your clubs will generate spin but the cleves can back a ball up a country mile if you arent careful .

As for practicing it helps you to better learn your clubs as well as your shots . The problem with learning on the fly is that you never really get to see your mistakes because all of your shots are simply hit or miss . Also practicing helps you hone your game skills you get to see better what you are doing wrong and work on correcting your mistakes . Its not always just having a slow finger or poor reflexes . Just like any ohter game if you want to get better you have to practice . Practice removes the guessing from the game .

You're most likely misunderstanding what your putting stats mean. The 40% from 0-5 feet doesn't mean, you only made 40% of putts, taken from that distance. It means that 40% of your total putts were holed from within 0-5 feet. What you need to work on is to get the 3 putt % down and 1 putt % up. Kind of a Cpt. Obvious statement ;-)
