Even expired contracts can be renewed.

With you on wanting Oakmont back, AB, as are almost all of the 160 members of Black Diamond GC, but I am not going to promise to boycott certain games.

I would add that WGT has been a little lazy in recent years about creating multiple pin placements, so losing any of the older (in terms of WGT) courses which had them is a blow.

    Tom

    In total agreement.

If some people think this is just a PC game and banging around BPB in low winds off the reds and shooting 31 is great, then great.  EDIT: Not saying that was the intent of the statement but that direction looking at equipment/scores on face value and some assuming (never assume).

Others who simply like a great virtual golfing experience and want to get good at this will miss Oak.  World renowned course on any list and if you started here with aspirations of playing virtual golf well your first sub 60 at oak off L tees in real RR conditions is a thrill as it said you have started to really play - Worthwhile challenge IMO and I am someone who cares nought for any other PC game.

Nothing against PC games, my sons have a nice gamer they use enough, just not my bag....

Icon announced it and I doubt he would think it was a good day.  I hope it comes back as someone who is happy to see this place flourish in good ways, and losing Oak was a loss, no other way about it.

"I am not giving wgt another dime into anything until Oakmont is reinstated. If it isn't, well that's me done with this game..."

The profile message will be interesting to follow up, I will be watching to see if you continue to play having stated quite unequivocally that you will never play again until Oakmont come back.

Well I wonder if you will actually follow up with what you say. If you do then well done I applaud a man of princlple, if you dont well we will all know what you are then

    Regards Alan

After a practice round playing at qualifications I can say I will win the Virtual U.S. Open at Erin Hills... the course just plain suites me.. It is free but may require the purchase of a few sleeves

I will take the prize and call it a quits. Maybe I'll be back for the next VUSO But I will not be puting credits into rgs and other ways where the credits get circulated back into system

Last time I predicted I would win I won the trip in 2013 vuso so it's really not that far fetched.

At first I like many others thought we lost Oakmont due to WGT letting us use their holes in our custom CC courses. This might be true, but I had another thought. When we got Oakmont in 2010 the cut line for the virtual U.S. Open that years was something like 63, And the 2 round winning total was 124 (61-63). Last year the cut line was 57 or maybe 56 and the 4 round winning score was 228. As protective of their course as the ownership is I'm sure them seeing the top players destroy their course with 4 rounds averaging 57which is 6 strokes lower than the course record of 63 did not make them happy. This destruction of their course might more than any other thing led to them cancelling the agreement.

Very good point, and we can thank wgt for continually puting out unrealistically performing clubs that turned this golf sim into another Tiger Woods game. Should have stopped at the ping g10's, 272 yard driver and callaway balls

    yep

Why not have OK everything in every way 99% of the year but the big ones attribute limited where only those that know the course and greens realistically can.  Ding or close things aside, which will remain an issue, why not for those that want virtual GOLF.  Less of a target audience for the WGT SS wing too ??

WGT wins and never know that old vanilla audience that loved the core product might not be so bad after all (to TG the latter lOL)

I've always thought so too.  Stats for Dustin Johnson are a 69.6 scoring average with 58% fairways hit.  Why can that be WGT's model?  Would everybody stop playing if it was a struggle to break par?

But they gotta keep selling clubs, which has lead to scoring that makes a mockery of the game.
