When I hit a club that is supposed to go 185yds it usually goes way less than that even when wind is not a factor.

Or if I have a shot that is 175yds and I use a club that is rated for 185yds and I use 3/5ths - 4/5ths power it doesn't come anywhere near to the 175yds. It's either way short or way long.

I suggest WGT find someone to write an algorithm that matches club selection distance to actual ball flight distance.

For starters, if you have an 185 club you wish to hit around 175 you need to hit the club about 94-95 % of full swing.  The other factor that will affect the shot would be spin used, type of ball and landing area.

Edit...Oh wait all starter equipment and ball.  Shots are gonna be a crapshoot.  But 3/5, 4/5 of full is around 60-80%.

So instead of thinking this way...▲▲▲▲▲.  You might instead learn how to hit shots. WOW, and been here a month at the most.  Maybe it's you, not the game.

The power to distance is NOT LINEAR. That is why mapping your clubs with spin and % is the best method. Pay attention to the carry.

1st off, you're playing with starter (free gear). It sucks.

2nd, somebody should fire your math teacher. Even 4/5ths of 185 is 148. And you want it to go 175?

3rd, there is no starter club rated at 185y, so wth are you going on about?

    1) I agree

    2) I should have used percentages rather than fractions 94 - 95% would have been more accurate

    3) I was using the 185yd number as an example. Not referring to a specific club.

Yep...The guy has no clue, and is only showing that.

@ OP - low cross wind Kiawah F9 practice several times off tee down to long irons.  Practice approaches after that with at a couple of spin settings, and note these.

No need to go mad with it as only hickory sticks and a rock, but a small taster for way more precise mapping one day.

This game will allow you to taketh outeth what you putteth inith:) , and put nothing in get nothing out.

Small amount of effort and you will get a good experience.
