I agree Lonnie.  I enjoyed playing both of them, but not enough to pay to do so.

It does puzzle me a bit that most guys spend 600-750 credits on a sleeve of balls but have a big issue paying 40-60 credits for a round of golf on an interesting course. Hitting one ball OB will pay for 5-6, 9 hole rounds guys J

    Just saying ...

The back 9 of Whistler has some greens that make Chambers seem flat..

I prefer Cabo for game play but Whistler is pretty to look at.

    Hi

Personally, I think it's a great idea. I thought so when the course builders were introduced, for 400cr ! Obviously there was a market out there for something new, or different, but somebody just got ridiculously greedy. That these courses were overlooked by so many players baffles me. For a tenth of the cost you can play 9 holes on either, or for 60cr the full 18. Both are refreshingly different to the usual, and make a welcome change if you're becoming jaded or bored. Okay, the visuals are not as good but with working out your next shot etc. after a couple of holes you really don't notice it that much ( apart from the odd box cactus ).

Last week finished with a CC event and all it's inherent problems, and still people are willing to pay 37cr to buy a pass. This I can't understand. For 3cr more you can play 9 holes on a course you may never have seen before and is a completely new experience for you.

Whistler does have some ah..  challenging greens, Cabo is better for those struggling with the putter, but both are good fun in the right company.

Might see you out there on one of them soon.

    Cheers!

Eliminate those 400 crs and those 37 crs from the equation and you arrive at a different POV.

Okay, I agree up to a point alosso. Forget the course builders now, would I rather pay 37cr to play in a CC event or 40 to play 9 at Cabo?

    Cabo or Whistler every time.

    Cheers!

How do you know this ? How do you know how much or how many players actually play the Tru Golf courses ? Those 40-60 credits will only last for 1 round , where as a sleeve of balls will last much longer . The open house idea is not a bad idea for WGT to do they should do something . Like before open both Cabo and Whistler again for free play to nation members . It wont happen though WGT doesnt appreciate good ideas those of us who have been here a couple of years know that all too well .

Well Rich you've certainly changed your tune! ;) You were only saying last week when we played Whistler "What possessed you (me) to pick here, these greens are a joke & I never want to see sight nor sound of the place again", Other than that I think you "enjoyed" it! ;)

Ah... Ken, you disappoint me. You know I say that about everywhere we play.

In our Alt shot games I usually have an outstanding partner by my side, to offer advice etc. and carry me when my putter is slightly off. I'll finish that statement there, the reader can make their own punchline.. I mean conclusion.

Indeed I did, finished even par if I remember correctly, and enjoyed it a lot.

    Cheers!
