Mine has become inconsistent with meter speed at times.

This is definitely not the mouse. Once you let go of it it's out of the equation. A worn mouse or low battery situation is going to manifest itself in erratic clicks or run-on meters, basically a missed click. There are other signs but these are the most obvious. In any case, a mouse is not going to affect meter speed.

l have used a wired Gameing Mouse, wich had a short life Span of about 18,months,  and at present l am useing a wireless Standard pc Mouse wich was bought from a budget shop for a English Pound, or just over a dollar

Absolutely no difference the cheap one plays the meter/and scrolls around the game as good as the dedicated Game/mouse did

I recommended this mouse to someone else who said that, turns out he didn't download the "gaming software" from Logitech and install it, so he "was" basically using a regular windows mouse...after he did he found out there is in fact a huge difference!

However we adapt to what we have, good or bad!

Thanks Dan, great mouse, but the buttons on top will be in my way. I'm sure you can disable them but I'm not sure I could get used to my left click finger resting on them. Sort of overkill for my uses, 2 buttons & scroll wheel are plenty for me. Also a bit expensive for me, I'd hate to fling $30 across the room, lol.

you would never know the ones to the left of index or the ones behind the scroll wheel between the index and middle fingers are even there.  None of them inferfear in any way.  The 502 is pretty much the same except there are more and more options.

I needed a new mouse anyway.  My sooper dooper Gearbest $5 gamer incl of all delivery charges with lots of buttons mostly just for show LOL died.  I think flattening it with pressure shots in the VUSO finally did it:)

A spare v reasonable gaming mouse around this place was never going amiss, sons have a gaming machine and play other stuff.  I took advice from the gentleman above and bought it.

The G300S works fine and as advertised.  Personally, those buttons on top have not got in my way and you can indeed have them unassigned.  The best actual shape is always personal of course.

Anyone who says (as earlier) you can't see scroll rate (DPI) differences most certainly never installed any SW.  Like walking fast v slow difference - real basics.  Pollings rates have already been discussed............
