Losing Oakmont

  I suspect there was a time limit as part of the WGT/Oakmont agreement to have Oakmont here on WGT and Oakmont elected to not renew the agreement when it timed out.

  I think there is limit to how many courses WGT can have, but WGT and the golf courses have to reach a legal agreement for a course to be added to WGT.

  When Pebble Beach last renewed with WGT they let WGT photograph the entire course so it could be available to us for 18 holes of stroke play several years before Pebble Beach was scheduled to again host the U.S. Open (2019).

  So it's a 2 edged sword - sometimes we gain (or courses renew the agreement), and with Oakmont we had had the first loss.

  No Practical Limit to how many courses WGT can have.

  The limiting factor is how many courses want to be included on WGT. It's my understanding being included entails a substantial cost to the golf course.

  I doubt that. More like the other way around, WGT does the paying.

  For sure, Oak losing WGT V WGT losing Oak...............Not even close who has lost out there.

  My Uncles cousins nephews friend told me he is great besties with Justin Rose and when they went crabbing the other week Justin said he prefered playing Oaky on WGT rather than IRL. Said he hates flying over there, staying in the best hotels and eating the best free food on offer. 

  Said he would much rather sit with a packet of scampi fries and a couple cans of tizer and ding away .
