Awile back I posted about some of the in-game messages certain opponents would send. The things these folks "say" are disturbing and offensive. I block them but that really doesn't stop the problem. I moved on and put it out of my mind, until today.

Another player started in with racist comments and other crazy things. I had enough! It's just a game but these loons are ruining it. So I decided to do something more than just block them. I took screen shots of the messages and emailed WGT support. This is the text from my email:

"Where do I go to report another player? I'm tired of getting IM's with racist, threatning, abusive language when playing. I have a screen shot from my last game showing player xxxx messages. I blocked him but more should be done. Where can I send it? What are you doing about this type of stuff?

I look forward to your response."

I am pleased to say they responded in a short amount of time and asked for the screen shots, which I sent. A few hours later they responded, thanked me and said they would review it. I just checked and the user is no longer listed, so I assume they either gave him a Time Out or he got the Ban Hammer.

I encourage you - if you are tired of these mental midget's antics take screen shots and report them! It does work.

This is the email I used to send the complaint:

Good work, you absolutely did the best thing by taking screen shots and sending them to CS.

To further minimise your exposure to that kind of nonsense from those kinds of players I would recommend joining a good country club and playing your fellow club members.

Yup, there are alot of fools that feel leaving abusive and defaming insinuation's toward others boosts their ego. I laugh. Things are soooo funny these days chaps. BOOM!

It's a PITA for sure, but, apart from the pinnacle of abuse, the more healthy approach may be:

    Block and forget!

Nope some just get several account to keep up their BS....several women in my CC have been getting blasted by 12 year old men, using the everything including the C words. The WGT kicks them to the curb, but they're  back under another account hitting on them again.....some guys just can't stand having their asses handed to them in a round of golf, especially from a women.  Too bad there isn't a "JERK" button to send them directly to the WGT.

I've come across few of these players. I block them and run down the clock, and hit the ball on the last second, make them forfeit each time. Don't give them the satisfaction of you getting mad.

Excellent approach. Particularly when you hit it stiff with a 3 iron for a tap-in bird.

I highly suspect the player who got the boot has several accounts. His screen name had a very unusual component followed by numbers, i.e. BulRomz33, and there are 1/2 dozen other BulRomz's with other numbers on the end (that is just a made up name - not real).

Either way, this is the process I will follow going forward. Cleaning up the internet, one miscreant at a time!

Well, it keeps happening but it seems to occur less frequently. Had another one Friday - starting on the first hole just messaging ridiculous, vulgar crap. So I took screenshots and sent an email to WGT. There was a bit of confusion on their part and they suspended my account by accident (oops), but they straightened it out and got me squared away while closing his.

This does work and WGT is responsive, if you provide screenshots. I'm going to keep at it and will update this thread so others can see, and hopefully do something too.
