Has anybody checked out the new Srixon balls yet? I'm curious to hear how they compare to the Callaways.

you cant compare them to Callaways because the Callays have more dots everywhere except durability,They look like they have filled the gap in the ball market between GI2 SD2 and Callaways ,I would say they are 2nd best ball and GI2 DS2 are 3rd best,If you think Callaways are too spiny for you then these will do nicely, and 100 cent cheaper, But i dont see any top 50 player buying these,At the moment, who knows how many dots they will have on next update.:)

I was thinking earlier much the same on future product releases. Just where are WGT going to go next with this? We had the Legend tier nonsense back in October, a way of creating a more equitable and level playing field for tournaments, as it was mooted. Seven months on and the game is basically more or less exactly the way it was for Legends. The scores are much the same and the regular winners keep on winning.

The new balls, driver and now the new irons don't really leave much scope to bring out further improved clubs or balls I would have thought. If there is further improved equipment releases planned the game will be in danger of becoming too easy for too many people. Not myself I hasten to add, lol. The only defence against ridiculous scores is faster greens and heavier winds. Let's face it continual heavy winds gets boring week after week.

I await with interest as to how the company can keep regenerating new revenue streams from their equipment releases without the scores making a mockery of the courses the game is played on.

    I like these balls.

Seem basically the same has GISD balls but the extra spin is noticed.

Full BS shots really eats the carry and yardage but thats pretty true across the board.

Those dots aren't filled up yet.   :-)

Oh I know Jim. The question is whether it would be to the overall detriment of the game if they did fill them up? Personally speaking, I think it would. There has to be a balance between making money and keeping the game challenging and of interest.

The worst thing that could happen to the game, is that the time involved from a newbie shooting 80 something, to low and sub 60s, is drastically reduced on account of better and better equipment. The challenge this game offers to its players is why we keep coming back day after day......

To paraphrase Jack Nicklaus, maybe the Legend players should have to play with a WORSE ball so as not to obsolete the courses...  'Course I am not a Legend, so easy for me to say.
