  To paraphrase Jack Nicklaus, maybe the Legend players should have to play with a WORSE ball so as not to obsolete the courses...  'Course I am not a Legend, so easy for me to say.

  Maybe a ball thats a CUBE instead...lol

  This Ball is great.  ive been using the same ball for over a year now.  and  after trying the calloways  i loved the slow meter off the tee.  but the approach shots and flops are a bit different.  now this  srixion  ball is a dandy for what im looking for with meter speed and the spins the same.  and just a half a peg more distance.  I may never miss another fairway.. THANKS WGT  this my new ball    DOC   :)

  This is an interesting thought and one that has been discussed for about 10 years now.  The clubs, balls, players are making many of the great old courses obsolete and many of the new ones that don't have the quality, history, etc. are starting to find their way into the USGA / PGA mix.  Pebble Beach, Harbour Town and the TPC are great examples of great courses that just can't be stretched back any more.  The Masters has moved tees back into places that make the course look unnatural and most of the British Open courses are now considered easy unless you get high winds and bad weather.  It might be time to do what the softball leagues did years ago and put in place a restricted flight ball, something that goes 10% less than the current balls on the tour, sell the hot balls to the amateurs and others but put the touring pros out with balls that go 10% less, Bubba Watson could probably still pound it out over 300 yards but you wouldn't see the pros play a 490 yard par 4 with a 3 wood and 6 iron.

  I bought a sleeve to try out, the equivalent ball to the Callaway Z. For me, by playing this ball you are giving up about 10 yards off the tee and a small amount of spin.

  The 100 credits reduction in cost in comparison to the Callaways makes this a very attractive alternative, given what I consider to be a small reduction in performance.

  Of course for the very competitive, the human psyche will always err towards whatever they believe will give them the maximum opportunity to be competitive. Therefore this ball will not be the preferred ball of choice for the very best players. I wouldn't let that put you off however. If budget is a factor but you still want that bit of extra edge to your game, this ball is ideal for you. A good addition to the product range.

  I just completed the Kiawah 18 Hole Ready Go playing the Srixon ball and the graphic below merely confirms my belief you can play this ball and be competitive :^)

  Playing the Srixon spin ball on Congressional. Comparing it to the other 2-dot-feel WGT Legend ball I was playing before, it seems very forgiving in terms of where the ball actually lands. The 2 dots of distance seem to give less extra distance than the 2 dots on the GI-SD, +10 yards or even less on the drive, I would say.

  It does make me wonder what characteristics the various balls should have. In RL, the ball manufacturers tout such qualities (largely imaginary, I imagine) as flight path (floating high, boring into the wind and so on), straightness (eliminating hook and slice, i.e. more forgiving of mis-hits), ability to work the ball, touch around the greens and so on.

  I didn't find much difference distance wise than the normal Callaway Z ball i use, stops the same as well, and although its a half dot less durable, its pretty similar in durability aswell.  I scored my best round to date at Congress C C with these balls, not Callaways.

  (But since writing this, i scored 58, but with Callaways), sorry Sirxon, your only coming out for friendly matches lol)

  Actually there is one very important and realistic feature missing from the WGT which would add to the difficulty...something that's been present in many of the PC based sims for years....that is:  adding slope (up, down and side hill) to the equation...HB3

  I think the Srixon balls r gr8. A nice step up from the WGT SD balls. Callaways r gr8 also, they stop on a dime with the right clubs. But for the money its the Srixions for me.
